He doesn't cheat anymore. I feel like Sasuke won't be a consistent sensei- like Jiraiya or Kakashi just teaching a tech every 100 years.

That said, the new writer will play it very very safe and won't introduce a lot of power-ups, especially none for existing prev gen characters- the writer wouldn't have the guts.

Powerup doesnt matter. A technique becomes just as strong as the writer wants it to be. Just think of it. Raikages,Kakashis and Sasukes thrust technique were nearly same. Now raikage went to bullshit by fingering techniques while Sasukes became able to destroy meteors. Now imagine Boruto being able to do rasengan able to destroy mountains by using rasengan..... Or he can use gentle fist so well that the chakra focuses at one point and when in contact with opponent, could instantaneously obliterate the enemy or strong enough to make a big hole. Or his lightning tech will be so great that he can burn even Amaterasu. So its about author.

Boruto descends from two strong bloodlines. Mitsuki seems to be a composite artificial human with insta-rage sage mode. I'd be more worried with how Sarada competes with those boys without MS.

And Konohamaru is damn near the weakest member of his own team.

He's influenced by Kurama like his dad as a child because he has whiskers, as does his sister. (Kurama up to 5 or 6tails ) If it does happen.. then that's not a handout. That would be their own power cause it's fused with their dna/chakra.
Developing more jutsu on top of that and maybe Ma & Pa will teach him and his sister SM. Those wont be free power ups if they have to work to control it an make it happen.

Hyuga/Sage Mode =Mitsuki(he will probably unlock tenseigan too)
Boruto probably will learn FTG like his Grandpa(maybe lvl 3?) Not sure about Bijjus (for now Naruto is still Jin) maybe TSM? I thought he would get byakugan and then Tenseigan, but after Mitsuki one shot i doubt it....

So for now i think he will get upgraded FTG and TSM... lets w8

Coming to Boruto's development, there are a lot of possibilities other than Kurama.
Byakugan --> Tenseigan
Ninjutsu & Taijutsu from Sasuke & Naruto
Kenjutsu from Sasuke
Sage mode Frog most probably
And of course new Rasengan variations with different nature transformations...but not too much of that
