Bolt's eye is maturing like the Tenseigan but is a new EYE with a more pure byakugan

It is possible to manifest a new Tenseigan by combining the chakra of Hamura's descendants within the Ōtsutsuki and Hyūga clans. When an Ōtsutsuki implants the Hyūga clan's Byakugan, the combination of their chakra will transform the Byakugan into the Tenseigan. Once implanted, the Byakugan will gradually synchronise with the Ōtsutsuki's chakra and mature into the Tenseigan, periodically causing its wielder painful pulsations in the process. Once the final, most painful pulsation has concluded, the Tenseigan will be complete.

A millennium after Hamura's time, one of his descendants, Toneri Ōtsutsuki, was able to awaken the Tenseigan by kidnapping Hanabi Hyūga and implanting her pure Byakugan

• So Toneri needed a PURE byakugan instead of any random one.
  
• He got Hanabi's eyes because she was from the main house.
  
• Tenseigan takes some time to mature.
  
• It also takes a heavy toll on the user while it is developing.

Okay I stated in the title that Boruto's eyes is a maturing Tenseigan but rather what I meant to say is that it is following the same process like it.

It could literally become its own unique eye.

The Byakugan (白眼, Literally meaning: White Eye, Meaning (Viz): All Seeing White Eye)

The Tenseigan needed a PURE byakugan... what is more PURE then WHITE?


but what do I mean by that?

Himawari's eyes are different then a regular byakugan as it is purely white then light lavender.

Is this a mutation by Naruto's Hagoromo cells? Idk but her eye may be the MOST PURE byakugan to date.

Why does this MATTER?​

Boruto and Himawari SHARE common genes but while Himawari under emotions unlocked a WHITE byakugan... Boruto never went through a similar experience.

Instead I believe his eye matured under some cellular mutation like Toneri and Hanabi's eyes

You can see that it PULSES IN and OUT during random times, instinctively rather then Boruto doing it on his own.

You can also see that his eye radiates outwards like the tenseigan in a sense

He also has overly light BLUE eyes like Himawari does... He might be able to do byakugan but is currently unable to do so since his eye is mutating like Hanabi's eyes with Toneri.

So basically compared to the Tenseigan that needs Oostutski chakra and a Hyuga PURE byakugan. Boruto likely got a mix of Hamura and Hagoromo chakra via his parents or maybe some genes of the two, while likely having WHITE PURE byakugans like his SISTER.




The reason as to why it is only ONE eye instead of two is that his Oostutski or Ham/Hag DNA is on a smaller scale then Toneri.


And for Toneri the Tenseigan took a overly HEAVY toll. So for Boruto his BODY likely can't handle two new dojutsus.

Momo likely knew this and later gave Boruto a Oostuski curse seal to stabilize it

because he likely lacks enough energy to go all the way

hence why he only has one eye currently

the curse mark likely stabilizes it and prevents it from evolving any more since likely his body wouldn't be able to handle it

Hard to gauge b/c

1. Older Boruto still has it in one eye
2. The design is the same
3. The Novel kind of hints at it being different. It's linked to something, but I dont wanna say it in case it doesn't become canon.

We should definitely get an idea if what it is before the first arc finishes. Not sure when tho, maybe ep 12.

I am saying like how the Tenseigan is basically Oostutski chakra + a Pure byakugan


Bolt's eye is a close Oostutski chakra (hamura + Hagoromo chakra) plus a pure byakugan (white byakugan)

I believe Bolt has the same exact eyes like his sister (hence the light blue eyes that people continue to mention) but unlike Hima Bolt's eye is busy transforming and evolving like Hanabi's eyes did when Toneri had them.


The strain is also too much for him so he can only do it with one eye.
