Think it's just a reverse summon we also saw electricity appear when he summoned the nue first time

We know ftg works by summoning mechanics it's possible he'll create dojutsu powered ftg

Doubt it's S/T but the lightning traveled in the direction of Sumire at first so probably a reaction to close contact to the Nue source. Or maybe he overrided and took control of the Nue forcing it back to its other world unconsciously due to wishing this conflict would stop.

But if the Nue absorbed its host? How will it be summoned back ever again?

Sigh, all a mystery that I'm looking forward to

I'm just gonna say this, I was very disappointed in this arc now that it's confirmed sumire cause it's another ho hum revenge story. That being said by the end of the ep I was actually kinda excited for the anime cause the whole arc was a throwaway pretty much other than to show borutos dojutsu, ironically enough just in time before gaiden where sarada gets her powers highlighted. It also left his eye power up for theories till next ep without giving us nothing this ep. I'm still thinking it's a dimension hopping s/t jutsu, I just think that it only reacted in this episode

Honestly if it wasn't a preexisting character, it probably would have been cliche. Although I'm not surprised it's another parent-drama thing :lol

It does look similar! Although, it's hard to say what's really happening because two different things are going on. Sumire's father is sealing the Nue, and Boruto ... I'm not even sure what happened. His eye just did something. There's no context.

Hopefully they'll expatiate further on the abilities of his eye in the near future, since the abilities it possesses seem intriguing to say the least.
