Remember this fight? The first Part 1 clash in between Naruto and Sasuke?

Well, the question I have here is how well Boruto would have done against Sasuke in that very same fight if he were to replace Naruto in that hypothetical situation

The restrictions are the Cursed Seal and Boruto's ninja tool, we're assuming both fighters are in top condition here despite Sasuke having been in the hospital beforehand.
Sharingan-less Sasuke had the speed feats to not only match Haku, but surpass his base speed.
Boruto, Sarada, and the rest of those guys, don't have credible speed feats. We can't compare them to most characters because we don't know where they stand. Mitsuki on the other-hand moved past Orochimaru in Sage Mode, somewhat.
That's harsh. Boruto has pretty much all (in terms of jutsu) his father had except summoning at that point, and even though he can't fill the place with clones, he has quality to at least somewhat compensate for quantity.

You make a very good point. I was just going on the basis that boruto was a supposed prodigy at the time, and naruto not being one, so if they stalemated by end of the roof top battle(sasuke and naruto), swapping the non prodigy with the prodigy would produce better results

..I don't really think so. I mean if you have to understand that the character itself never really trained hard. His accomplishments are half-assed because he never put enough effort into learning them fully.
Naruto could make thousands of clones with his chakra, along with Kurama's. Boruto can only make up to four, or five.
Sure the technicality of the technique's are there, such as Rasengan-Variants, and elemental natures. But the lower half isn't even feated (as in having feats to display them), and Naruto still triumphs over raw power alone.
You have to look at it seriously. If Naruto were to conjure up a thousand clones, Boruto would get stomped. He couldn't even handle 10 against his 5. A thousand Naruto's versus 5 Boruto's?

Well, it really is hard to make a new generation shine when the old one is so...godlike.
But we are comparing Boruto to Sasuke though, not his father. While a thousand Naruto clones would overwhelm five Boruto ones, the situation might not be so simple on the other side. He is brash, but he has a far better Taijutsu than his father did and can cooperate with his clones surprisingly well in battle. Sure, five against a thousand is a complicated matter, but how well could he do with five on one without having to keep his distance like he did against Shikadai? I imagine it would be more successful than how Naruto chose to approach the situation, with two or at best three jumping to attacl Sasuke on their own instead of working together.
:lol Sasuke rek's. His overall abilities and shuriken jutsu far outclassed Boruto's. Let alone his other techniques and speed that Boruto can't even react to.
Well the next generation barely showed most of their feats, and the main character hasn't had time to ... well go all out. He's held himself back, plus Naruto's generation was fleshed out for more than 200 chapters. A two hour movie doesn't really give them enough credit to stand with them, although I'm not saying that the K11 are stronger than some of Boruto's generation. Some of the weaker K11 like Hinata/Sakura for instance. The higher tier characters like Sarada, Mitsuki, and Boruto, can take out some more.

Alright, but Sasuke combated Naruto's clones effortlessly by himself. His best Taijutsu feat comes from Yurui, the Elitst from Kumogakure. However that doesn't put him on Sasuke's pedestal. Especially post-Chunin Exam Sasuke whom is on his Rock Lee speed. It's just immeasurable at that point, Sasuke would wreck him before Boruto realized he got KO'd.

> Boruto could not out speed Shikidai, Shikidai could not do the same to Boruto.
- Sasuke is obviously faster than both. Unless someone can prove that Boruto can physically stop Sasuke whose speed was comparable to Lee's at this point.
> Sasuke's Taijutsu is vastly superior, capable of not only fighting multiple people at once, but also overpowering single opponents just with his pure fighting style. His Sharingan with the 3T just makes this match-up even more pitiful.

Mind you this is 2T Sasuke.
> Sasuke's Ninjutsu is also superior to Boruto's.
- Actually can use Katon release /w high grade, Boruto can use three elements but no actual jutsu's bar the Vanishing Rasengan. Although Naruto has shown to negate the effect of Sasuke's Fire Style while making the Rasengan, so he could probably do this too.

> There's no real way of knowing whether Boruto can cancel out Sasuke's Chidori with his Rasengan, although with Sasuke being way faster, it doesn't matter because he'll never not hit him.
> Sasuke's shuriken jutsu is superior.
I mean if you factor in everything, it's nothing but a stomp. I can't go more into detail because it's just pointless.

I don't really see Sasuke having trouble.

And that's just to counter/stalemate him. To overpower him, he'd need to best Sasuke in the same categories. The next generation really aren't all that powerful yet, yes they have flashy moves and their skills are there, but they don't have the right feats to label them as 'the strongest'. Not even close.
I'm looking forward to see where they go, before the flash forward, but the Movie is taking up all that screen time... lol.

Maybe he can develop a big ball Rasengan? If he does then maybe then he have a chance because his invisible Rasengan can be seen by his Sharingan. And his speed and all is lackluster. So that have to be improved on too. Especially his kage bunshins he needs to learn how to make more.

Momoshiki with sensing and the Rinnegan never sensed/saw his Rasengan coming. I don't know if that was an error or not, it bugs me because it's a chakra technique. Though a feat is a feat, regardless of how werid it is. Reason why it would never factor in with Sasuke is due to Sasuke just being faster than him. The minute he see's Boruto creating a technique, he'd have enough speed to stop him and nail him to the ground. lol
I mean Oodama Rasengan would give him more power, but again it's still lackluster if he can't hit Sasuke with it. Remember Trunks vs Cell? All that power but still got thrashed. Obviously if Boruto pulled off that giant Rasengan from the Movie, it wouldn't matter, but I'm just referring to the

Boruto needs to focus on his speed & cqc. If he can get to Rock Lee's level like how Sasuke trained hard through the Sharingan's help, he'd be close to Chunin Exam Sasuke. Especially if he worked on his elemental natures.

Was Momoshiki a sensor? I'm not sure either honestly it most likely was because Sasuke saw it and knew it was a change in chakra Nature as soon as it disappeared.
:lol I can imagine him doing that speed blitz and do Sakura style punches.
Ah true. Well even the one from the movie he wouldn't be able to catch Sasuke with it unless he aim it at the ground lol which would be a good idea lol.
Now that you say that, for some odd reason I imagine Boruto being like Tobirama.
