Cause it was a time where war and killings wasn't uncommon, even the 5 kages were suspicious of each other. As they explain in Boruto, ninjas aren't in high demand nowadays, so they are stricter that way. Guess you could say they even needed the fodder.

Also Boruto wants to do things independently and due to his genius he just goes with the flow not taking things seriously or wondering what purpose does it serve.

So no teamwork, no drive, overconfident and no lack of stress or responsibility

Sakura is complicated, I've been going over the manga at each phase she's hyped by kishi then sidelined. Kishi wasted a lot of development potential. I thibk thays largely down to him over complicating the story.

Yeah no doubt about it. She was said to have great CC and Genjutsu mastery but her skills went nowhere until she went to Tsunade.

Against Sharingan and MS user she did pretty good if you ask me.She just didnt need to , but if it was unnecessary she could use it, and i bet she wouldn't lose that fight in any case.
