Since the time they showed that scene everyone is just talking about Kawaki's words but I notice something else too and that is Boruto was not wearing his band at first but then he wears it and said he's a shinobi too now let's try to figure out their back story from what I know through latest manga chapters is that boruto's and Kawaki's body tattoos are related to group named kara obviously this group is an evil organisation in the series it could be possible that Kara influenced Boruto in a way where he finds them more right than his father's established shinobi world and leave the village with them and after few years he become strong with Kawaki and get full control over those tattoos and his eye now they decide to attack hidden leaf village where Kawaki and Boruto were sent cause sasuke is out of the village and they can handle Naruto alone and after that Kawaki kills or injured Naruto badly and Hinata after knowing Boruto's in the village she run to find her and there she saw a completely different Boruto taking on his father and Kawaki injuring him seeing this Hinata gave a good talknojutsu to Boruto and he decide to protect village and betray Kawaki where they starts their fight (there possible reason for attacking konoha might be that if they kill Naruto they could start a destruction of shinobi )
