I might sound very boomerish but I feel like the new gen just keeps getting handed powers :cautious:

I agreed with you before the timeskip. And I suppose I agree in Kawaki's case after. Boruto now not so much, though he is blessed with that future abilities insta-unlocked thingy lol

Its really fast paced isn't it.
I havent caught up on the last chapter or 2 but I kinda felt a little spark and it reminded me of the old days when we'd wait week after week for new chapters.

Yeah I feel ya. I really do not like the monthly releases, I really miss weekly. Bi-weekly would be fine, but monthly is too little imo. It's been good though as of late, but no place to discuss it lel

Yeah thats very true but I guess now that Kishimoto took over, he doesn't wanna feel rushed anymore like before

Actually it was recently revealed that Kishi has let go of the reigns again. The other guy does both story and art now as of the latest two blue vortex. Kishi only supervises when the other guy asks him to now. Mostly royalties it seems.

HUH?
WHEN? NAURR
2020–2023 (Chapters 52–80): Kodachi stepped down. Masashi Kishimoto took over writing duties. Ikemoto remained as illustrator.
2023–Present (Boruto: Two Blue Vortex): Mikio Ikemoto is now both the writer and illustrator.

It was revealed at the end of July. - 31 Jul 2025

Kishi is 50 and Ikemoto 48. Naruto was more regular than OP. I suppose neither want that kind of schedule now.

Still faster than Hunter X Hunter and The Breaker...Both took so long to update that I lost interest. I remember waiting at first and then forgot that the series existed. A few days ago while checking the section I noticed the old thread and then it was like oh that was the also a series...

Yeah but bi-weekly with less pages would be plausible I think.

The weekly bit kept everyone engaged. If nothing else they should rather do seasonal weekly maybe.
But indeed, it's a hard schedule for sure I imagine.

Kishimoto is definitely suffering from fatigue and not putting in that much work since Naruto ended. The Tale of Hachimaru was hyped after Naruto but Kishimoto only did story boarding and let another assistant draw it.

I hope he does some more one shots, now and then, himself. His own art has a different flavour.

From what I found current Boruto's Return Arc is focused on Boruto's return to Konoha after a three-year time skip.
He's now considered a fugitive by most of the village, except for Sarada and Sumire, who suspect something is amiss with the world's perception of Boruto.. So he is following his teacher Sasuke's steps it seems. I will check out the manga when I get some free time.

Yes, manga is ongoing. The Boruto anime is currently on a break and next season, may return around 2027 or 2028, according to Anime Alert and Radio Times according to internet. Seasonal format should improve quality and give us less mindless fillers.
