[Discussion] Boruto Manga confirmed: spring 2016

The world of Naruto has so many stories left to tell and starting in Spring 2016 fans can once again enjoy the world of ninja as Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump will begin to publish a manga based on the next generation! Boruto Uzumaki, the son of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, will serve as the lead character in a series called BORUTO!

Naruto series creator Masashi Kishimoto will be back with his talents, but this time as a supervisor, similar to what he did for the Boruto: Naruto the Movie. The manga story/script will be written by Ukyō Kodachi (who did screenplay for Boruto: Naruto the Movie) and drawn by Mikio Ikemoto (who worked as an assistant under Kishimoto-sensei on Naruto).

Even though the manga will run in Weekly Shonen Jump, Boruto will be a manga series published monthly. It’s unclear how many pages each chapter will have, but it does grant Kishimoto-sensei his wish to work on a series with more relaxed deadlines while giving us die-hard fans a continuation to the manga series so much. We at Saiyan Island are very much excited and hope to bring you the latest news for the series as it’s announced!

BORUTO will take place after the events in Boruto: Naruto the Movie. Below is the first promotional image for the series. From the Hidden Leaf Village, it features Sasuke Uchiha, the the Hokage Rock, Shikadai Nara, Inojin Yamanaka, Chocho Akamichi, Metal Lee, Naruto Uzumaki, Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki. From the Hidden Sand Village,at the bottom left of the image and first seen in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, are Araya (masked person), Shinki (black coat) and Yodo (girl). At the bottom right there is black-blonde-haired mystery character we don’t recognize.

I'll probably read that for Sasuke. That's the only character that draws me towards this manga.

The art isn't very good though. I don't know whether I'll like the new manga or not. Depends on the story...

But I'm happy to see the story carry on, I just want some fresh material, the war arc just drained all the momentum after a while. Maybe having a new artist with Kishi just supervising will give the series a breath of fresh air

Why are people expecting great things? Normally when other mangeka continue a successful story it fails to live up to the reputation. Toriyama was supposed to give direction to GT but still turned out shit, super is barely better. I have no hopes for this so called part 3. If this guy was doing his own manga from scratch I'd be more than intrested but without kishi as the main man - any naruto related content is not worthy tbh. Originality for me is what makes Naruto special. The fillers can be detected from miles away

This was expected, now it just needs to turn out well. Idk how the boruto story/script was but I guess it's in the hands of Ukyō Kodachi.

Can anyone who has seen the movie tell me how they thought the story/script was handled without spoiling it?

Ukyō Kodachi a fan of the sand village so it be more centred around sand trio ties with Gaara an shikadai.

the artist Mikio Ikemoto would add in this own style an place this own version mix of sasuke an naruto hybrid ..

looking at the splash image it could say that boruto might get the sasuke treatment an depart from this own team.. might be replaced by Metal Lee.. or someone else
