Chidori is a lightning rasengan, that was Kakashi's goal but he failed. So he doesn't exactly infuse it, kinda just makes it correctly.

Isn't there a whole segment a bout kakashi explains that chidori is only elemental manipulation where as rasengan is the purest form or chakra manipulation... Chidori is a stab no rotation or chakra changes other than elemental.
