Naruto's first futon rasengan's weren't able to be thrown but still had the spiral effect on them, which Boruto's is lacking. In case you've forgotten, which it seems you have this is what a rasengan looks like with fuuton added.

It wasn't until he used senjutsu with it he could stabilize it long enough to throw. Chapter 339 the first time he uses Rasenshuriken and his eyes are in Kyubi mode

If you keep reading to 340 you can see even though this is Rasenshuriken he doesn't throw it

Rasenshuriken is just the name of Naruto's Fuuton Rasengan not just the version that can be thrown.

Skip ahead to chapter 415 and we get Naruto learning Sage mode and getting the idea he can throw Rasenshuriken

The first time we see a hint of a thrown Rasenshuriken is chapter 418

So as you can clearly see, Raenshuriken is fuuton rasengan and was only able to be thrown by Naruto AFTER he learned sage mode. Yes I'm aware this sounds like I'm saying Boruto uses Sage mode but I don't think he does so consciously I think it's just something that happens. As for how he has sage mode, idk how the authors may choose to incorporate that and I am aware it's a catch to my idea but it would take the same amount of explaining as why suddenly adding fuuton to rasengan allows it to be thrown when it was shown not to work that way. Anyway just some food for thought.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way. There could possibly be a number of factors as to why Boruto can throw his Rasengan, when Naruto couldn't do it until reaching Sage Mode level. It could be determined on the Rasengan itself, while both are classified as S-Rank difficulty abilities, only Naruto's version shown S-Rank level power. Boruto's only feat comes from it being incredibly small, and not on a Rasengan's normal size.

In my opinion he's able to throw it because:

> Chakra size isn't the same.
> Maybe he can because "blah blah Prodigy excuse"
> Vanishing Rasengan just operates that way with no given reason.

But obviously he doesn't have Sage Mode yet, or, I have this weird feeling in the back of my head that he won't ever have Sage Mode.

Cheater sm

True he cheated but you guys joke too much about the cheating thing then some casuals latch on to it like it means something. Wasn't the entire first test of Naruto's generation about cheating? Ninja's cheat, ninjas deceive it's what they do.

I agree he doesn't really have it yet, it's sort of like Luffy from OP with Conq. Haki it's there but not accessible except through minimal occurrences. And yes it could be something else including your first two ideas, the last one shouldn't be accepted though, but I mainly wanted to use this thread to disprove it's just adding fuuton like most have been saying while suggesting there's some foreshadowing of his possible future sage mode

Maybe but we can't be sure there can be other factors

What I can conclude is throwing FRS requires refined chakra control, which Naruto only achieved after learning SM (Base Naruto throws them in The Last). Boruto just happens to have the chakra control to throw a stabilized fuuton rasengan

I don't think it is possible to put SM into the cheating device

Rasenshuriken isn't the same as narutos fuuton rasengan
There's a difference between rasenshuriken and wind release rasengan

IDK about that but it would appear that Boruto has a better CC than Naruto at his age an this could be why he can throw it like he can already..

Lil Hima might get SM cause Boruto already have 3 elements to his arsenal. He shouldn't be Naruto .2 like the rest of the new gen an their parents.

Notice they're the same just different sizes.

Here he says it's just a name and the attack must be carried to the user.

The move was always called Rasen Shuriken from the very start but couldn't be thrown until Naruto learned Sage mode.

I feel like Borito has better chakra control so thats why he can make rasengan so easily and second i feel like he uses air palm in some way to push it away

These are good theories as well. Even if this idea doesn't get much support and/or ends up being proven wrong at least I'm seeing less people accredit it to him adding fuuton to his rasengan.

Minato's conception of the rasengan was a blank slate. It was already made for powerful close range attacks. It worked because of Minato's FTG tech. It was translated to Naruto easily because of the use of clones to help either overwhelm or close-in on opponents. Boruto doesn't have either supplementary jutsus mastered to the same level so, he can't do it like them. Yet, like all rasengan users the primary is incomplete, without an element and without a decent amount of control.
Boruto's Rasengan is incomplete and rushed at that. Still, the principals of rasengan are present, as he tries to throw it. It doesn't loose power, and the spinning chakra keeps the form as it's floating. Yet, the size of it is too small and the physical jutsu collapses on itself but still floats on to the target.
