They made Boruto look 8,000,000 times worse than in the movie. Now he comes off as a total scumbag. In the movie he at least was caught and didn't cost Shikadai a spot in the finals. Then he learned his lesson. But here he gets away with it and doesn't seem to care he just screwed over his so-called best friend.

He saw that Shikadai was devastated, knew that Shikadai won fair and square, and didn't even give a crap. Of course Boruto will skate at the end cause he is the main character. Shikadai will be forced to forgive him even though Boruto screwed him over and selfishly took away his chance at glory.

Good point. Any capable ninja sitting behind Boruto in his blind side should have been able to see that Boruto was cheating but none of them seemed to report that Boruto was using some strange device to summon shadow clones.
