Boruto already has a rival. It's Naruto. He needs to prove himself a shinobi in the long run, and live up to his potential. He's got an excellent master in Sasuke. Konohamaru is no help at all. Why Naruto thought he was worthy to teach his son, Sasuke's daughter and Oro's son, is beyond me. Why Kakashi saw fit to promote Konohamaru to Jonin is also beyond me. Boruto will never be at his father's level, but he can at most become a shinobi who would be worthy of being Hokage. Like his father and grandfather.

Also, Shikadai has an asswhoppin in the works.

Naruto isn't Boruto's rival. He isn't even close to be as powerful as Naruto is. To be someone's rival, you gotta be in the same level as them. A rivalry requires a equality condition.

i.e: Sasuke/Naruto, Goku/Vegeta, Coca-cola/Pepsi, McDonalds/Burger King, Samsung/Apple, etc.

^I think he's saying that Naruto is the one who motivates Boruto to become stronger. Rivals are too conventional, it's time for a change anyway.

For the most part rivals in the series always motivated each other to grow stronger. For now, there doesn't seem to be any rivals in the series after Naruto and Sasuke. The only real competition (albeit one side) we've seen was through Boruto and Naruto (in the next generatiON), and at some point I thought it was over, but then you have Kishimoto still talking about it towards the end of the Movie.

So it's a mystery to me. I don't think Boruto generally wants to surpass his father, but I think that Naruto is a key point to his motivation too?

Mitsuki with dragon sage mode is the only threat for Boruto.

That's quiet funny cause this has been something I have been asking you this whole time. How will Sarada learn the Uchiha heritage if Sasuke is away from the village all the time? Yet for some reason you think her becoming Hokage will have anything to do with the Uchiha history. When in the manga her reasons of becoming Hokage had nothing to do with her Uchiha background.

Yes that has been the reason for why she hasn't learned it. But it doesn't mean she won't learn it in the future. Sasuke isn't shown going back on his mission at the end of the Boruto movie so that must mean he's done with it for now. He might still look into but his top secret mission is over. Kishi loves the Uchihas. No doubt he'll bring the history up at some point. He's the king of flashbacks. What do her reasons for becoming Hokage have to do with it? Doing something about her Uchiha background can come later when she finally becomes Hokage.

You see the thing is unlike those other Uchiha's. Sarada has a parent there, who is by blood not an Uchiha. In this situation only the father is an actual blooded Uchiha. The kid will only learn the most from the parent they see most. In this case it is a character who is outside of the Uchiha background. So Sarada is only learning off the person who she is with.
Yeah she is. So what? It is possible to learn more than one fighting style.

Nope I am assuming what I see here.

Logic >>> fanfic

Is Sasuke in the village most of the time? The answer is nope.
Is Sasuke giving his daughter any lessons on what it takes to be an Uchiha? The answer is nope.
Is there a guarantee that Sasuke will stay in the village to run his clan for the future? The answer is nope.
Is Sakura an actual blooded Uchiha who knows the whole history of the Uchiha? The answer is nope.

Sasuke had a top secret mission to complete. The only thing keeping him from being in the village was his mission. But if he's done then he can come home. No doubt he'll still do missions every now and then but it won't be the same Itachi-like sacrifice he did before. He should have enough time to come home and teach Sarada something. Again Sasuke hasn't had time to teach her anything. But as Sakura says here, once he's done he can come home. It's just that simple.

They don't know ABC about the Uchiha heritage. How would it be important to them? Going by your logic the Uchiha heritage is nothing to Sasuke. That is why he does not wear it on his back. The crest alone does not determine how much you know of a clan. It is the acts they portray that are clan related.

Because they are Uchihas. How would it not be important to them? They don't just wear it on their clothes, they also have it shown throughout their house. The point is that they care about the clan so when the opportunity to learn more about it comes up, Sarada will want to learn more about it.

Throwing kunai is not only Itachi's specialty. it is Tenten's specialty to. I am assuming Tenten is part of the Uchiha clan now since it ties in with the Uchiha clan.

I am just showing you that her techniques are diverse and aren't limited to just Sakrua's techniques. It's shurikens not kunai. And the Uchihas are known for it hence why Boruto thought that you had to be a Uchiha to learn the technique when he was training with Sasuke. And of course Sarada has her sharingan so it's kind of stupid to argue that she's not living a Uchiha life.

Kishi is done with the series. Meaning we could only go off what we see. There won't be a future like that unless he makes it happen. Hence why I am going off what sounds logically off the stuff we have seen.

An Uchiha learning a basic fireball jutsue after the age of 12 sounds laughable really. I really don't see it happening. Also Sasuke staying in the village sounds out of character to me. The current him will just go off to another journey.

Highly unlikely when the parent is rarely home.

He can come home but the real question is will he stay home? If what you said is true. Than him staying away for 8 to 13 years sounds really pathetic. Cause if he was searching for Kaguya all those years. Did he not once think about coming home? The thing that's really not helping you here is that you got no proof of Sasuke willing to stay back to raise his daughter. All you got is some empty insurance by Sakura's words that got rekted later once Shin showed up.

Because they are Uchihas. How would it not be important to them? They don't just wear it on their clothes, they also have it shown throughout their house. The point is that they care about the clan so when the opportunity to learn more about it comes up, Sarada will want to learn more about it.

That opportunity was never hinted in the manga though. Something you don't seem to grasp. Plus right now these Uchiha's you speak of are by name not by nature.

I am just showing you that her techniques are diverse and aren't limited to just Sakrua's techniques.

Sakura can throw gas bombs and shurikens to. Btw It would take more than that to show diversity. Please look up the meaning of that word. XD

And of course Sarada has her sharingan so it's kind of stupid to argue that she's not living a Uchiha life.

Every ninja can throw a shuriken in this manga. Naruto's main finisher is Rasen-shuriken. Is he an Uchiha now? The Uchiha are known for there eyes and fireball jutsue. Nothing more nothing less.

And of course Sarada has her sharingan so it's kind of stupid to argue that she's not living a Uchiha life.

So just by having sharingan you can live a Uchiha life now? Lol In that case Kakashi was a great Uchiha.

You see, Sarada and Boruto's relationship is by far one of the best things of the next generation. I never saw them as "rivals" -- Maybe not the same way we see rivals who fight among each other. Boruto and Sarada are more like close friends who bicker with each other back and forth, but still remain to have bond that remains unique from the past gen.

Sarada: Wants to help Boruto, in fact she roots for him quite a lot. Though unlike past female characters, she doesn't allow herself to be caught up in his problems and still remains to follow true with herself (in example of not allowing Boruto to ruin her dream by becoming Hokage because he didn't want to join the Chunin Exams, but still caring enough to support him and his father's situation by telling him Naruto will watch him, along with Katasuke stating the same thing but wanting something else). In Chapter 700, Sarada wanted to follow Boruto due to the prank he was going to do, but in the Movie we see Sarada following Boruto while he trained so she could root for him in her own way. You could see a frowned look on Sarada's face when Boruto gave up at times, but when he came up and started trying harder her face lit up. When Boruto thought he failed to impress Sasuke with his Rasengan, Sarada came from the bushes and started to tell Sasuke that she didn't know Boruto well enough, that it was a miracle he kept training for as long as he did.

Overall her friendship with Boruto is rather refreshing. You have a female character willingly to go out of her way for another person, but still not lose her meaning as a person in the Manga.

Boruto: His feelings for Sarada are more hidden, but still rather obvious at the same time.

While Boruto does not outright want to help her straight away, he begins to root for her. We see early on in the Gaiden that Boruto has a positive relationship with Sarada, and his other friends. In the beginning when Sarada told Boruto she wanted to become Hokage, he scoffed at her dream and saying that Hokage's were weak under his breath. In the Movie, we later see Boruto and Sarada arguing over the same topic. Sarada wants to become a Chunin to further advance herself to the Hokage spot, and Boruto connects 'upgrading as shinobi' to him 'becoming hokage' (Which shows the mentality of how the world looks at him, and it's seen through Mitsuki. They all expect him to become Hokage, which is why for the most part he has no interest in becoming a Chunin.) Eventually, Sarada figures out how to open him up, and he later accepts and joins the Exams.

In the second part of the Exams, Boruto is up against three Genin brothers who can also make the shadow clones (up to 3 each). When Boruto gets overpowered and outmatched, he closes his eyes in anger. He then hears Sarada's voice, and it says she wants to become Hokage, and then it shows a picture of Chunin Exams. So immediately Boruto begins to contemplate on not only his internal struggles with his father, which is why he had the device in the first place (and why he was in this situation) is because he wanted Naruto to look is his direction. But at the same time he thinks about Sarada in this situation and her dream of being Hokage which he only scoffed at, and he starts to use the device. So in that sense, he not only is fighting for himself, but he is fighting for her (whether he admits it or not).

His connection with her is never outright stated by him, he doesn't go out of his way for her like she does for him, but he does enough behind the scenes and in important parts of the story which make you feel for their relationship. When Sarada fell into her knees because of Momoshiki's power, Boruto immediately made a shadow clone to surround her on both sides so that she would feel safe. It's things like this that show you how well these two work together, compared to the past generation's relationship (let's say Naruto and Sakura).

Towards the end of the Movie, Boruto told Sarada that not only does he support her dream of becoming Hokage, he also wants to protect her and retain a relationship that Sasuke and Naruto share.

Minato and Kushina started off as rivals for the Hokage spot, and look what happened.

Shikamaru and Temari too doesn't need an explanation.

But at least there's hope that these two characters won't bring each other down like other ships in the Manga who do more harm than good.

well said...:)

As sarada wanting to become like naruto, it shows she is less intrested in continuing the linage of uchihaor care about her clan which ibelieve has todowith sasuke not being around most of the time and boruto wanting to be like sasuke.
An uchiha want to belike an uzumaki an uzumaki wants to be like an uchiha. I was right the strongest clans may be going extinct

I just think of Bolt and Sarada having a sibling relationship.
