Mitsuki: introduced back in 2015, at Sarada's gaiden
Kawaki: introduced in 2016

What is the canonical development of Sarada and Mitsuki in the anime that wasn't based in Kishimoto past work because Kishimoto was the one that developed Sarada in the Gaiden and Mitsuki in the "Road illuminated by the full moon".

Apart from that.. I wonder what the anime actually brought to us that wasn't made by Kishi and wasn't in the movie in terms of character development for those two.

Mitsuki’s character in the sumire arc. He commented how boruto changed him against shino then when helping denki . Mitsuki against shizuma . Mitsuki in the graduation arc .
Mitsuki will be fighting shinki next episode
Sarada against buntan focused solely on her . Sarada beat the guy in the first mission . Sarada is fighting araya next episode .

Kawaki might not even be that important since Kara will probably be villains of one arc only. Then we'll move to other stuff.
