Of course they were equal, portrayal puts them on par with each each other, since both got half of Kaguya's power much like Ashura and Indra got from Hagoromo, and Hamura is paralleled with Sasuke and Hagoromo with Naruto. It's the exact same dynamic with all 3 pairs.

With all that said, they both had Six Paths Senjutsu, Truth Seeker Orbs, and Staffs. Aside from that, the only difference between them is Byakugan and Rennigan.

Honestly, I don't see why the insecurity from either bases. Byakugan WILL get attention in the future, and Sharingan era has ended now - it actually ended since Itachi, since that was the last time we saw Sharingan in great action. But that, however, doesn't mean we won't see anymore from the Sharingan. Cuz our deuteragonist wields one, and damn, with just 1T she was able to copy Boruto's shadow clone jutsu. Anyway, sordid as it may be, we'll still see more Sharingan, but good news is we'll not see it on the same scale as Part1/Part 2.

Like gawd, we got whole two parts flooded with Sharingan content. Like, we had four major characters that wielded the Sharingan, and one had it active throughout his appearance since his debut in Part 1.

All we can do now is step aside and let the Byakugan kids enjoy their turn.

Now, can we all praise Ao's miraculous survival. I'm all hyped up here, and I really can't waiit to see how they're going to justify his supposedly untenable survival. But it's an interesting phenomenon to revel nonetheless.
