Eh, he didn't get knocked out by boruto's kick and backwards headbutt so i guess that's something. Still, a rasengan would do more damage than stuff like that. Therefore, it'd make sense for it to mess him up that badly. Piercing & taijutsu damage are different tho.

This upcoming chapter is a make it or break it for this arc. It's been really slow and boring.

If they can turn it around, I'll be surprised.

Well that is true the anime has been way more interesting and fun. The manga is monthly and VERY slow . Side charactes aren't having that much focus too! While the anime is focusing on everyone

The Anime was just setting a basis or foundation for the series, but it's over now. They'll start focusing on singular groups of ninjas now, probably until the next set of fillers like Team missions (cat types for example). But the Manga's been focusing on Tentou, Team Konohamaru has major screen time, and most of Konohagakure was there before the mission started. Including Mirai.

Anime was kind of shite with their focusing though. It was mostly around Boruto, Sumire, and Mitsuki. Characters like Sarada, Cho-Cho, and Inojin barely had screen time. But you can't please everyone.

So far though the first academy arc was fun from a friendship standpoint, but the story was kind of predictable and boring. Post-Movie arc it isn't really that predictable outside of Tentou's development, but it's not that interesting.

So it's kind of lame overall. IMO

honestly the sumire plot is better than shojoji UNTIL NOW. i can't judge now completely until shojoji arc is finished. but the new content in boruto manga isn't as fun and exciting as the sumire arc

Probably because it's monthly. I bet when they start adapting it, it'll be more appreciated since anime viewers will finish it in about 3 weeks or so.
