It was never that bad to begin with. Some people just picked out a few bad panels (mostly Sasuke fans) and generalized the entire manga based solely on those panels because their precious Sasuke looked bad. Sure people had problems with other things as well like the art style ect but all in all, the artwork as a whole really wasn't "bad".
