The manga's style is not ideal, but it has been getting progressively better with every issue. Its also grueling to have to wait for a month to get a new chapter every time.
The anime is a lot "prettier", but its heavily behind the manga and, to compensate for getting it weekly, we instead have to deal with what would be considered filler episodes continuously here.
All and all, I think they work together well. The manga compensates for the anime by being ahead and always presenting us with something new and the anime compensates by the manga by making its visuals better and coming at a constant rate, not to mentione giving us some interesting anime-only arcs from time to time, like the whole Ghost Arc.
I still prefer the anime overall, as its clearly supposed to be the perfected and definite version of Boruto's story, what with it encompassing all next gen stories and expanding on Canon, but they do both make each other better by being presented to us together.
