No they are both pretty serious and funny depending on the situation. Like Father, Like Son. They both want to protect what means most to them. The way they started out was different however, Naruto was immature, then became more mature as the series progressed and Bolt already knows what he is doing and is mature. They both have their moments and that is what I believe holds their similarity.
