So lately I've been seeing some threads about how Naruto would stand no chance against Sasuke if it wasn’t for the chakra that Kurama has been giving Naruto. Now, I'm no expert, but I have been following the manga/anime for quiet some time now, longer than some of the fanboys in the page.(does that seem conceited?) I apologize.
If we want to understand this whole topic on 'borrowed power,' first we'd have to understand the exchange in order to receive such power. According to the law of equivalent exchange, something of equal or greater value must be given in order to receive another such thing of equal or greater value. No grater result of what was already possessed.
Is Sasuke's Visual prowess equal to that of Naruto's inner entity?
NARUTO
Naruto has ben living with a tailed beast throughout his life, which as we all know has caused him quiet the trouble with villagers. Mental and emotional problems, trauma and not to mention the death of his parents.
Naruto's Borrowed Power -
Naruto has received quiet the power up, great amounts of chakra, incredible healing abilities, a brand new KCM, plus with this new SoT6P chakra mode.
For our purposes, we wont consider Sage Mode as a borrowed power, for Naruto learned that as a result of training. (much like Sasuke's chidori, or fire style jutsus)He also received a good handful of techniques from Papa Six, like…..um….like….gudoudamas, and a levitating ability, as well as healing techniques. He also was able to use the other bijuu's chakras to form different rasengans. And does the Kyubii collecting sage energy count? Never has the manga proven that the bijuus can collect nature energy, but more of 'molding' chakra.
But what were Naruto's exchange?
Naruto's Drawbacks -
As stated above, the exchange for such Kyubii gifts were the death of his parents, the mental and emotional trauma from the villager's behalf, the lack of chakra control due to the Kyubii's chakra flowing through his system (Naruto would have to work twice as hard in order to control his chakra, since the Kyubii would disrupt his chakra flow, according to Jiraya, and the Grandpa Frog), the need to remain with chakra that would keep the seal in proper place, the lack of going full out in a fight for fear of unleashing the Kyubii, and the need to use extra chakra in order to be able to mix properly his chakra to the Kyubii's chakra in order to be used properly. Also, in order to use the bijuu's chakra. He had to fight against the bijuu's….ALL OF THEM! No exceptions, and not only that. But have a straight and unswerving mindset of befriending those who threatened his life.
Borrowed power? More like equal exchange…
SASUKE
Sasuke lived a happy life prior to 'the night.' He had a brother, mother and father. Skilled with fire nature control, and having a talented brother to teach him proper ninja techniques Sasuke had a good head start. But the night came along, and it awoke a power within him, something that would forever follow and rewrite his mentality. The sharingan folks.
Sasuke's borrrowed power -
Sasuke had a head start with having fire nature in his bloodline (all learned jutsus don’t count, for they require practice and skill). Not only this, but his brother actually came in as a role model who was helping him with his training, as we know for they would both go on missions together. Sasuke also received a curse mark from Orochimaru, enhancing all physical statuses and jutsus, as well as the full Curse mark transformation. Nevertheless, he also received jutsus from Itachi, and a good old Amaterus, Susano'o, and Enton (now, this aren't techniques that one could go around learning, for they are abilities that come with one's eyes, a bloodline gift {Thank you Indra!}) Sasuke also received a good handful of extra abilities from Sage Gramps. Rinnegan, amazing chakra control, extra time-space techniques. You know, that goo ol' stuff. The Curse mark also provided for nature energy, as it was obtained from a blood of the clan, which is constantly absorbing chakra.
Drawbacks -
Having the curse mark means that you constantly pass through a very great pain. Not only that, but you must have some amount of chakra in order to not let 'him' run out and take over your body. The sharingan means that a traumatic event must happen, for all different leels of the sharingan, not only traumatic events however, but something of deep impact to your life. The Mangekyou makes you go blind. Eternal mangekyou means that you must obtain the eyes of a sibling, or someone that is compatible, which means killing. The rinnegan……..need I say more? The usage of the tailed beast is difficult, for he absorbed their chakra and without a proper seal he is handling any remaining chakra left, although for a short time it is, a time nonetheless.
Borrowed…….more like…..-pun thinking intensifies- ………more like….equal exchange…..
So are Naruto and Sasuke at equal terms now?
Not one single bit.
Sasuke has many more bloodline advantages.
If anything, naruto's stamina is his only advantage.
Naruto has been fighting for way longer, and if you actually know manga facts, Naruto's fight began sine the taking over of the Kyubii, up until now.
Meaning:
• Kyubii fight
• Clones sent to different battle fields
• Raikage
• Madara
• Zetus
• Kimimaro
• Itachi and Nagato
• Saving of Hinata
• Saving of Sakura
• The killing of those stupid spider guys and the one with the flute
• Helping the little kid squad
• The fight versus the jinchurikis
• The fight versus the tailed beasts
• The fight versus obito
• The fight versus the Jubii itself
• The fight versus Madara and Obito controlling the tailed beast
• The Fight versus a wild ten tails
• Fight versus Obito Jinchuriki
• Fight versus Madara Jinchuriki
• Fight versus Kaguya
• Fight versus Sasuke
Aint that neat?
Where does sasuke stand?
• The fight that Itachi Won against Kabuto
• The Fight versus a wild ten tails
• Fight versus Obito Jinchuriki
• Fight versus Madara Jinchuriki
• Fight versus Kaguya
• Fight versus Naruto
Are they really at par….?
Is it equal exchange?
Is shrek love? Is shrek life?
Is it his swamp now?
Please, understand what it means, and how Sasuke's full intentions of killing are releasing all of his best fighting tactics, whilst Naruto is fighting on a defensive side, trying only to bring his friends back to the real world Naruto holds valuable.
