I've seen plenty of people say that Naruto wouldn't be much without Kurama.
What I don't understand is why they don't acknowledge the fact that Sasuke wouldn't be much without his own share of borrowed powers. Both Naruto and Sasuke had powers that were forced upon them that made them stronger than most characters in the long run.
Part One: Sasuke had a Curse Mark which was Jugo's power. Naruto had a locked Tailed Beast which gave him limited power. One could say that Naruto being a Jinchuriki held back his progressive in some areas. On the other hand, the Curse Mark seemed to passively increase Sasuke's abilities, like his Sharingan
Sasuke: Jugo's power
Naruto: Kurama's power
Part Two: Before he confronted Itachi, Sasuke betrayed Orochimaru and took his power. Not only did he have the benefits of the Curse Mark, he had the passive abilities of Orochimaru, which included his Snake Techniques and his healing powers
Sasuke: Jugo's power and Orochimaru's power.
Naruto:Kurama's power.
After his fight against Itachi, Sasuke lost those abilities. He later unlocked the Mangekyou Sharingan after learning the truth about Itachi. For a while Sasuke was depending on his own power. However, he overused the power and needed Itachi's eyes because he was almost blind. Besides getting his vision back, this increased his power even more
Sasuke: Itachi's power.
Naruto: Kurama's power.
Honorable Mention: Sasuke needed Jugo's power in order to keep up with Naruto in their fight against Juubito.
When Sasuke was near death, he met Hagoromo. After an exchange of words, he was given Hagoromo's power, just like Naruto.
Sasuke: Itachi and Hagoromo's power.
Naruto: Hagoromo's power and Tailed Beasts power
During his fight against Naruto, Sasuke used The Tailed Beasts Chakra to fight against Naruto.
Sasuke: Itachi's, Hagoromo's, and the Tailed Beasts power.
Naruto: Hagoromo's and Tailed Beast power.
Sure, Sasuke doesn't have sentinel beings in his head that gives him power, but you simply can't deny that he arguably used even more borrowed powers than Naruto. Do I have a problem with the concept of "borrowed powers"? No. Why? Because my favorite characters get stronger using borrowed powers. My favorite characters include Sasuke by the way lol, so don't think I'm bashing him or anything. I just simply wanted to point out out the whole argument was funny.
Borrowed powers became irrelevant the moment Kishimoto decided to create Kaguya anyway, since everyone is using her power lol.
Peace!
