Books into Movies? Yes or No?

Do you like your favourite book being turned into a movie or do you dread it?

I personally don't like them doing it because they always seem muck it up badly somehow. But thats just me.
Twilight for example, I can't stand who they got to play Edward Cullen

I dont really like it either, but I'll make an exception for The Da Vinci Code, if you had read the book it was awesome, if you hadn't it would have made no sense.

I like it when they do a good job, like Harry Potter or Chronicles of Narnia.
But yah, I hate who they got to play Edward too, it's Cedrick Digery from Harry Potter right? I don't think he fits it...-_-

sometimes because it's cool to see it on screen but sometimes they mess up the show like (cough) all harry potter movies

Hahaha. Yes, they really should have gotten Tom Sturridge to play Cullen instead of this guy.

I guess it all depends on who produces and directs, and acts in it, etc etc. LoTR movies were great, and did justice to the books. On the other hand, the Harry Potter moves from CoS onwards sucked like hell, and disgraced the books. And I'm super pissed off at the people who judge the books from the movies because they are two completely different things.
