What would you say are some of the book equivalents of some of the manga you read?
For me it'd be:
Naruto - Harry Potter: a little kid noone likes, gets picked on, etc but than becomes the big shot chosen one and both of the main characters have some similarities. Also it's popularity. And Orochimaru and Voldemort.
Berserk - A song of ice and fire: gore, mature, gore and more gore, and ofc the awesome story
Battle Royale - Hunger Games: because Hunger Games is basically the same thing as Battle Royale
One Piece - LoTR: huge and complex world, emphasis on values and friendship, conservative number of deaths but have a huge impact, epic story-line and an epic journey
SAO - Twilight: idk why, kinda think it fits
SNK - 50 shades of gray: both got hyped and popular as sit when they came out but then it all eventually kinda died down, also both more or less sell for one aspect that is very exciting to us, the ''dark'' aspect in SNK and the *** in 50sog
