Just like how he never said Sarada is Sakura's daughter "by blood". Yes in a sense she is the daughter of Sakura but thats not to say she is blood related(she obviously did raised her). In the chapter Sakura was obviously hiding something also. Im not going to be surprised when we learn Karin is the real mother. It was obvious back then and its even more obvious now.
