Alrighty, give us a quick run down on both of these abilities

 

[Zatanna]

Boil, which is more like a acidic vapour, burns through objects. Is in a gas state. Is pretty strong for the fact that it can burn through susanoo bones.

Lava, which is more like acidic mud, was first shown as actual lava first, only because of a mistake. More like a acidic mud/slime, it also has strong burning properties.

Both used by Mei Terumi with her kekkei tota, Fire, Water and Earth.

( Futton: Katakiri no Jutsu ) - Boil Release: Solid Fog Technique

Description: After performing the Snake hand seal Mei will release from her mouth a large amount of Vapor that rises up to her chest and spreads out around her that creates a blanket of corrosive fog that can cause severe damage to her target by melting some of the targets skin but like the Skilled mist technique doesnt have full acid properties.

( Futton: Kōmu no Jutsu ) - Boil Release: Skilled Mist Technique

Description: After performing a single hand seal the user creates a cloud of mist from their mouth. This mist has corrosive properties that is capable of even melting the exposed bones of Susanoo. The technique has an inherent disadvantage in that its effects are indiscriminate, limiting its usage to areas that do not presently contain allies until the attack is completed. Though the mist is corrosive to all around it, the user seems to be immune to it, but the corrosiveness of the technique merely can cause some severe damage to the body of the target but not have full acid properties that could melt them instantly.

(Futton: Tsumibukai Renge) - Boil Release: Sinful Lotus Technique

Description: Mei manipulates her chakra to create vapour to be released from the ground that she then causes them to create corrosive explosions. the corrosiveness of the technique merely can cause some severe damage to the body of the target but not have full acid properties that could melt them instantly.

-Alright, B rank, Single Seal, Basically a half baked Acid fog, not full power.

-Single Seal, A rank, Stronger acid fog, the one we saw in the series. Explains the user is immune.

-No seals needed, A rank, Releases acid from the ground in a fog, strong potential there, Makes explosions.

(Yoton: Yōkai no Jutsu) - Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: After performing Dog → Boar → Tiger → Ox → Rat → Bird hand-seals the user releases a large amount of acidic mud from their mouth, which spreads into a broad, thin sheet as it travels through the air. Since the acidic mud is shot upwards in an arc, so as to descend onto the targets from above, it prevents the intended individuals from jumping up to avoid the attack. A great deal of steam is created afterwards by the effects of the mud, so should the targets still be alive, a follow-up attack can be conducted while their vision remains obscured.

-Basically a spitball of acid lava mud stuff. simple, quick, good surprise attack/use without need to actually move or anything.

- 6 seals, a large sheet of mud from mouth more like a torrent than anything. froms from above like a wave, so goo frontal and overhead attack. though only A rank

I didn't realise how simple these techniques were gonna be lmaoooo, here are the last two - final one is a combo of Boil and Lava which is pretty neat;

(Yoton: Yūkaidan no Jutsu) - Lava Style: Melting Bullet Technique

Description: The user will concentrate her chakra and release from their mouth a large amount of acidic mud that is manipulated into a large bullet that travels at the target.

(Yōton/Futon: Yōkai Bakusan) - Lava/Boil Release: Dissolving Exploding Acid
Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80 (-20 per turn)
Description: After performing the Horse hand seal Mei exhales a blazing fast mist of corrosive acid which surrounds and engulfs her opponent and surrounding area, damaging it on contact. She then seems to blow a kiss at them, which actually is sending a big sphere of acidic mud, exploding dramatically on contact, covering the target area in hot acidic mud before quickly hardening into solid rock.

Note: Counts as two techniques; mist lasts up to 2 turns if not countered.
Note: Can only be used by Mei Terumī bios.

- A rank, typical bullet technique but with acid mud, i spose good splash damage?

-combines two elements, 1 seal to perform S rank tech. User exhales a mist to cover the area, then firing a acid mud ball causing it all to explode covering the area in acid mud.
counts as 2 moves for a turn.

I dont think you can rely on splash damage since it's not in the description of the technique, but since logic applies I guess?
