I have one thing to say.
Explosion/Blast Release is lit.
It's basically using your chakra to induce explosions through physical contact or other means. It also grants the user the ability to manipulate on going explosions. It is useful for setting up traps and pulverizing solid/matter based elements . Basically it's dust release without the 3 dimensional shapes.

Blast Release is the combination of earth and lightning its main weakness is water and lightning
Lightning imo shouldn't pose a threat when the blast is already released as it basically acts like fire and wind pressure at this point, lightning is more effective against infusion techniques of blast release i would say as it negates the latent explosion within i believe, im gonna check with scorps on a few things regarding blast but for now just be wary of lightning.
water is an obvious weakness and needs no real explanation.. it smothers the explosion and its not brittle enough to really be blown through.

Don't even know how water is an obvious weakness because the force of the explosion should rip apart the water but whatever. And underwater mines don't exist apparently lmao.
I focus explosion release chakra into the center of my palms releasing a small explosions from my hand.
Strength is that it can repel opponent's weaponry and can send the opponent backward.
Weakness is that it has a low rank so the explosion isn't all that powerful and can only be used in short range.
I'd honestly never use this technique in battle but if I were to i'd use it in combination with a taijutsu technique that requires no chakra for added damage.

good good, water in this case smothers the explosion, like an underwater mine the explosion doesn't get rid of the water at best the techniques shock waves can blow the water back but because water is a flexible element it can absorb the blast somewhat. at least that's how I see it.
like you I would also use it in close combat in conjunction with taijutsu the blast may be small but it should have the strength to cracked some ribs at least and apply small burns
