Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi and his father, Ramadan, had long-standing links to a violent jihadist group which may have had British backing for the 2011 Libyan war and a 1996 attempt to kill then-Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

The controversy centers on the role of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), which was both an anti-Gaddafi and Al-Qaeda subsidiary in the North African state.

Many of the fighters which formed the group in the mid-90s were veterans of the Afghan-Soviet war from the 1980s. They went on to fight the Gaddafi regime in Libya itself.

The war saw the overthrow of the Gaddafi regime and the eventual murder of the leader himself after he was captured by opposition fighters. Since NATO’s intervention, Libya has been in chaos.

It has descended into a protracted civil war, is a major contributor to the international refugee crisis, has its own branch of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), and two opposing governments.

The elder Abedi was reportedly one of the LIFG fighters who fled Gaddafi’s response to the rebels, settling in London and, later, in Manchester.

The area of Manchester in which Salman Abedi grew up was home to a number of other LIFG members, including former senior commanders including Abd al-Baset Azzouz, who left Manchester to go to Libya and run a 200-300-strong militant network for Osama Bin Laden’s successor, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Azzouz is reported to be an expert bomb-maker.

In 2002, former MI6 agent and whistleblower David Shayler accused the British spy agency of colluding with the jihadist group in a failed 1996 effort to kill Gaddafi, an allegation the British government strenuously denies.

Allegations have also emerged that in 2011, the UK may have relaxed restrictions on LIFG fighters based in the UK and helped them return to Libya to fight Gaddafi.

The UK was at that time engaged in fighting Gaddafi as part of a US-led NATO coalition. Former fighters interviewed by the Middle East Eye said that the UK actively supported the return of anti-Gaddafi dissidents, including those with Al-Qaeda links, to the North African state.

One fighter who spoke to the Middle East Eye said he had been interviewed by an MI5 agent who asked if he was “willing to go into battle?”

“While I took time to find an answer he turned and told me the British government have no problem with people fighting against Gaddafi,” the fighter said.

Others reported that when the war in Libya began, they looked into how to get fake documents, because their passports had been removed as part of restrictive control orders placed on them by the UK government.

One said that within days, the authorities had returned their passports, after which they headed straight to Libya to take on Gaddafi.

At the time of the war, current UK Prime Minister Theresa May was Home Secretary, with oversight of MI5 operations. It is not clear if she was aware of the decision to relax restrictions of jihadists and return their travel documents.

"What a surprise"
"Alleged"
What's the surprise?
The surprise is that RT (otherwise known as Russia Today, a television network funded by the Russian government) can create nice fanfics.
Though my favorite part about the network is when a TV anchor quit her job live on air because it's so biased, with selective reporting on some situations/propaganda.

But the biggest surprise is we can see how much of a sheep Kushina89 is.
Turning on her tv and believing what RT (Putin weapon of mass deception) told her.

She is not fully woke.
She is not fully woke.
She is not fully woke.

You realize that all the worlds Government and Defense Organizations are in cohutes right? UN plan and orchestrate beautifully every terrorist attack that occurs since 1969 by means of covert ops and political manipulation carried out by certain individuals in power that belong to a specific secret organization. Excluding North Korea. There's a movie named body of lies that literally predicts a manchester bombing at same location the movie came out 2008. You have to realize that they know full well that the Western world funds terrorist groups and terminate them and use them as scape goats at will. They laugh after innocent people including children and babies are slaughtered. This has been going on in the middle east where millions of children and women have died for the U.S and Russia simply to procure oil.

The motive is to induce Agenda 21 globally after they have fakd enough terrorist attacks to convince the world that they need one world government and that's when the entire Planet Earth goes down the shit drain.

everyone has their own reasons why they do the things they do whether it may be great or terrible.

the Cold War is probably the most devastating "war" that had ever happened. it ruined countless of countries that are just trying to get their stuff together but was impeded due to raising the "wrong banner"

some countries needed communism and some needed capitalism.
however these big nations imposed their will on these countries on the premise of "turning into an enemy state"

the Allied forces, really more US than any other nations, backed terrorists or as they call them rebel forces and supported corrupt government officials everywhere while the USSR simply invaded or made weapons trade deals with the nations leaders.

The sorry state that the middle east is in is due to those big nations causing problems to the rest of the world with their pettiness of who's a red and who's a blue.

back in the 70s, the middle east have been very "westernized" as some may say.

men and women are free to do as they please. free to dress and go anywhere and aren't that strict. they were functioning as a 1st world country would and now they are always war torn. a group gets toppled over only to be overtaken with a worse one and another group would rise to combat that and the cycle continues.

I'm not saying that it's ok to kill people who are in those nations that were responsible such as bombing a concert.
I'm saying is that they are targeting the wrong people.
If you want to kill the ones responsible, go blow up the politicians who were working during those period and are responsible for their turmoil.

killing children who have yet to grow up and make mistakes will only breed hate and will justify what they will do and act towards who they think are responsible for those horrible actions.

kill the old people FFS. young ones have nothing to do with what happened 50+ years ago. also it would alleviate some of the tax burdens that are imposed to the working people and we young people need all the money we could get.
those taxes get pocket by the dirty politicians who are responsible for the state that the rest of the world is in anyways.
