Well the Byakugan allows you to see significantly farther, it gives you x-ray vision, and the ability to see microscopic points on a person's body. With 360 vision, it's terrifying in comparison to the Sharingan. Gentle fist even creates a situation in which they would best a Sharingan user in their own territory. A person with Byakugan can see that he's under a genjutsu, and break out of it fairly easily. The Sharingan simply doesn't hold up against that massive arsenal until the person gets Mangekyo.

byakugan vision only require training 4 u to make it stronger, while sharingan requires sacrifices like witnessing the death of someone close 2 u or killing someone close to u.
also byakugan is permanent while sharingan deteriorates the more u use it xcept u possess d ems or u do not awake ms.
