If the sand from Gaara's gourd automatically defends him from harm at any time, does it consume any amount of chakra at all? Cause like usually the only Sand techniques that I have seen that consume his chakra is mostly his Sand Armor, Sand Clone, Sand Shower, Sand Tsunami, Sand Coffin, Sand Burial, Giant Sand Burial, Sand Substitution, etc cause I ceebs naming the rest... Kankuro stated that the sand will act of it's own accord even if Gaara didn't will it to. The 4th Kazekage stated that it isn't moving because of Gaara's chakra, but of the mothers love...

It consumes chakra it's just he's so skilled with sand that sometimes it doesn't require much chakra use.

The sand from his gourde is all infused with his chakra, when its used t infused with sand in the area increasing the amount he can use, from that if he touches the ground he can channel more chakra intotheground and have more sand there

It requires chakra, but the sand itself is imbued with chakra (that's why it can't act with out Gaaras control).

I believe it depletes Gaara's chakra, however it takes the minimum amount seeing that his proficiency with his Sand exceeds that of his fathers..
