Chapter 59: "King of Rot II"
Kalin: Wow.
Dante: Looks like you wanna do close combat.
Astaroth: My pleasure.
Dante: Hammers!
Rebellion encases itself onto Dante's hands forming hammer fists.
Kalin: That's creepy, but awesome.
He punches Astaroth, staying on top of the fight. Then Astaroth suddenly turns the tables by oozing out more of that orange stuff. The air starts to really reek. Kalin coughs.
Kalin: This stench is repulsive.
Tamo: I don't smell anything.
Kalin: ...You're lucky.
Tamo: I'm immune to other Demon's powers, except March's power.
Kalin: I see.
Dante T: X, don't you have a weapon?
X T: I just use my strength as a weapon.
Dante T: Do you at least know how to use an actual weapon?
X T: Yes.
Dante continues to combat Astaroth.
Dante T: What type?
X T: Staff.
Dante uses Bringer Light again, then backflips into the air. He glows a white light. A staff falls to X.
Dante(staff): Use me.
X T: You got it.
X spins the staff above his head and catches it.
Kalin: Be careful, X.
X: No need to worry--
X hits Astroth in the side quickly and silently. The fight goes on for 6 minutes.
Dante(staff): Would you rather use the hammers?
X: How about a scythe?
Dante(staff): Scythe.
The staff shifts into a silver scythe.
X: Nice.
X throws the scythe at Astroth, and it comes back, so he throws it again.
Dante: Don't get surprised. I'm gonna extend.
X nods. The scythe bends and wiggles then shoots at Astaroth, the blade circling around his body.
Dante(Scythe): Pull.
X pulls back.
Astaroth: Guh! Bastard.
Astaroth flips and kicks the ground, taking anchor. It becomes a tug of war. X smiles, tighten his grip and pulls up on the scythe. The scythe's blade tightens its hold like an anaconda. It slowly cracks Astaroth's armor. X breaths in deep, turns, and lifts the scythe back in front of him. Astaroth gets pulled up into the air and slams into the platform.
X: Sounds like it hurt.
X's voice was lower. Astaroth starts oozing out more orange goo, it moves around his body like slimy armor. He slips out of the scythe's grip.
X: There's no end to him...
X's voice was still lower than normal.
Kalin T: Was I the only one to notice that X's voice dropped?
Tamo T: No, I can hear like a cat.
Kalin T: I wonder why it dropped.
Tamo T: I don't know.
X pulls up on the scythe, and it pulls back to normal.
Astaroth: That's not gonna work again.
Kalin T: I think it's time for me to help him.
Kalin goes over to X, and X chuckled.
Kalin: X?
X: You don't know when to give up do you?...No matter, let's get this over with.
Astaroth makes black flame orbs and throws them at Kalin and X.
Kalin: Watch out!
She puts up a fire wall and X and Kalin duck out of the way.
Kalin: Lightning blades!
A thousand blades appear. The black flames consume the fire wall and explode. Kalin sends 200 lightning blades at Astaroth. Astaroth puts up a dome of black flames with orange stuff oozing out disintegrating the lightning blades. Kalin gets really mad.
Kalin: Why you little chi--
X: Don't bother.
X lifts his hand and a skeleton assembles itself. From inside the dome, Astaroth throws more black orbs. Kalin sends more swords at the orbs and some at the dome trying to find a way through.
X: Go, my minion.
X points to the dome, and the skeleton walks over to it and tries to get in. The dome burns the skeleton to nothing.
Tamo: Ruko. Try to help.
Ruko: Okay. Evolve, Ju Sutairu no Shikei Shikkō(Ten Styles Executioner).
Ruko raises his blade up, it splits into ten blades surrounding him.

He picks two Great Swords. X raises 3 more skeletons.
X: Stay put.
Kalin(to herself): X...
X looks at Kalin and back at the dome, and has a twisted smile on his face. Ruko races like a ghost towards Astaroth. Orbs fly at him. He merely phases through with a short flash step. More orbs come at him, and he bats them like a baseball. He then slams the blades on the dome. Threads of black flames surround him and trap him.
Kalin: Ruko!
Ruko smiles. The blades appear again, and make a opening. He jumps out. More black threads follow and attack him. He takes no notice to them, yet his blades block them.
X: Kalin, use your power for something useful.
He barked at Kalin, and made her jump.
X: Like firing at the dome.
Ruko appears to be dancing, never touching the ground and using his blades to keep off the ground covered with the orange ooze.
