This chapter felt short. Thought I did like Kenpachi's new sword. But I don't understand Wsn't Kenpachi's sword in a pernament Shikai?

Kenpachi's sword was never in Shikai form..... before this he didn't even know the name of his zanpaktou..... and you can't go to Shikai form without knowing the name of the zanpaktou let alone Bankai...... i am hoping its not his bankai..... because i want that to be more badass..... =D
