Was a good chapter albeit a bit anticlimactic for Bambietta Ik mean she was wrecking shit then all of the sudden Kommamura shows up and basically instantly kills her(if she is dead). But his new power and transformation is pretty badass and he doesn't seem like fodder anymore. I mean seriously in his only major fight being against Tosen and he needed help from Hisagi to win that..
its a 5/5 for me. i guess bleach is much better than naruto now... naruto manga kinda lost its storys way... i dont like it very much now.... :'(Everblight

It was a cool chapter, the art was really cool and Komamura's bankai LOOKS really awesome. I think it's a complete asspull though too.
His original Bankai having armour to protect it, yet the armour was made form Kommamura's life? that seems like possibly the worst Bankai power ever and still the worst in the series, I don't get a bankai which you must protect where everyone else has a bankai to protect them, seems backwards.
I do really like the explanation of how he became the big fox though if I see it correctly, He was a sinner in the real world but pulled out his heart and was instead sent to the world of the beasts in which he must have escaped and then become a Shinigami? but the fact that he has to once more pull his heart out to reveal his true form is pretty cool. I don't like the 'Oh look I have this other form of ultimate power!' but I think for someone like Komamura it was needed.
I'm not sure I'm convinced by his abilities with his new form either. He said that explosions do not work on his bankai or himself because explosions only effect the living and both he and his bankai are now dead. But if you blow a corpse apart it ain't gonna get back up right? Also I don't understand why his body still takes damage when his Bankai does. He said the armour was his life force but now that is done away with shouldn't the link be thrown too? and now when his Bankai is damaged he is fine?
Interesting chapter. The Quincy got a sharp rise then a quick drop but i didn't like her anyway to be honest.

I'm not really sure how you came to such an interpretation. Kubo is never clear with his explanations and the logic behind them and it also depends on how it is translated, but in the end it comes down to that they were originally a very powerful clan, but that got punished for their sins and got changed into wolfs/dogs and sent to the animal realm. In the end they somehow still ended up in SS and by removing their hearts they can revert back to their original form and strength. You can give several explanations of how and in which order everything happened, however I really don't understand where you get the idea that he already pulled out his heart once and that he escaped from somewhere. Komamura didn't know he could transform into a human, he had no knowledge of being able to transform into a human and he certainly didn't escape anything as his clan is located in SS. That's what this secret clan technique was about: transforming into a human.

I don't think Kubo is asspulling anything, I think he's trying to explain each of the captains backgrounds, and reveal Soul Society's past a little by little. Ichigo's Mom being a Quincy, I've actually had thoughts about when I first started the series. Komamura's Clan past was explained, and a little portion of SS's history is revealed. I think Kubo is timing it well, and not making the arc short and crappy. I wish Ichigo would get a little more panel time, but I can live with some flashbacks, because the history interests me. This battle is a prelude to whats about to come. Ichigo is about to hear SS's past, and I wonder if that's going to be a twist within the series, where the Quinices were the ruling class, and were banish to Earth. Due to the Shinigami Corps, taken over.
