Chapter 37- Darker than Black
Akira: Devour?Karasu Hane (Raven?s Wing)
Suddenly Akira?s shadow rose off of the ground and floated behind him. It grew larger and more sinister and smirked. Akira looked at Daiki and smirked as well. His shadow suddenly reached over him and shot its hand out at Daiki, and surprisingly, its hand extended and grabbed Daiki by the neck. Daiki struggled to break free from the shadow?s grip, but the shadow was very strong, far stronger than Daiki. Daiki positioned his sword and shot 40 spikes from it into the shadow, causing the shadow to release him in pain. Daiki fell to the ground and then jumped back. He flipped in midair and landed on top of a house.
Daiki: Take this!
Daiki swung Ginuo and it extended much like Renji?s Zabimaru and crashed into the ground, barely missing Akira and making a small crater on the rocky ground. Akira swung his sword at Daiki, and Daiki blocked it with his own zanpakuto, but just as he was to maneuver, Akira?s shadow rose from the blade and surrounded Daiki.
Akira: Devour!
Daiki: I?m not going down that easy! Spike out! Ginuo!
Daiki was surrounded by a silver aura and suddenly silver spikes began to rip out of his body and stab into Akira?s shadow, repulsing it. Daiki smirked and the spikes slowly receded into his body. Akira looked surprised and laughed. Daiki?s neck was bloody but he acted like it didn?t bother him. Daiki floated to the ground and landed on both feet. He took his zanpakuto and stabbed it into the ground.
Daiki: Sakana Suke-runo (Fish Scale Field)!
A sharp spike that was about 3 feet tall suddenly ripped out of the ground. Then another. Then another. Then two more ripped out. Then five more ripped out of the ground and the ground shook. Suddenly, hundreds of spikes began to rip out of the ground at once and ripped out toward Akira until he jumped up into the air. Surprisingly, however, more spikes ripped out of the ground and they were progressively taller and slowly reaching Akira as high as 200 feet in the air. Akira flew to the side but suddenly, one huge spike split open and shot out 500 smaller spikes at Akira at which Akira?s shadow responded quickly by going in front of Akira and absorbing each of the spikes but some of them pierced the shadow and hit Akira in the shoulder and legs. Daiki ripped Ginuo out of the ground and said?
Daiki: Explode.
All in one moment, every single silver spike on the battlefield exploded and destroyed countless buildings and made craters in the streets. Akira?s shadow covered him from the explosion and then returned to the ground. Blood ran down Akira?s arm and legs and his face. He smirked at Daiki.
Akira: Impressive. Last time I saw that shikai, you limit of spikes shot at once was 50, and you could never do that one move that I just saw. Amazing?Snap (Hajike), Karasu Hane!
Akira swung his sowrd and sent a condensed ball of black reiatsu at Daiki, who blocked with his zanpakuto but then the condensed orb exploded, sending him flying.
Akira: I copied the style of the attack during my fight with Hinamori Momo, and I made it my own. Now take this!
Akira swung KarasuHane and it sent a blast of dark reiatsu at Daiki that quickly approached the Vizard. Daiki quickly drew a line on the ground and clapped his hands together. A garganta opened and a hollow that suddenly came out was hit with the blast.
Daiki: Heh.
Akira: That technique. *remembers when Daiki used it back when they were attempting to use the kido cannon to destroy Hueco Mundo* Strange technique there?it?s obviously not something they teach in Soul Society.
Daiki: It?s a technique Jiro uses to open Gargantas. Cool isn?t it? Too bad this will be your last time seeing it.
Akira: You?re awfully cocky, Daiki. Why so confident? Have you forgotten that I am now a Captain?
Daiki: And did you think that in those 80 years of my absence, that I stayed as weak as I was when I was a lieutenant? Akira?????you?re sadly mistaken. *stabs sword into ground*
Daiki?s silver hair grew slightly and his silver eyes gleamed. His sword began to glow silver and soon the ground did the same. Daiki smirked and Akira?s eyes widened.
Daiki: BANKAI!!!!!!!!! KYOUSEI GINJUU! (Great Silver Beast)
A huge burst of reiatsu came from Daiki and pushed everything away from him. The ground, which was glowing silver, suddenly turned into liquid silver and Akira?s leg was frozen in it because Daiki made it harden in that specific place. He smirked and held his arms out in front of him. At his elbows, on each one, a curved blade of silver that extended past his hands. Daiki flash stepped behind Akira and swung his arm at Akira. Akira turned around and blocked Daiki?s slash with his zanpakuto and attempted to jump into the air, but his feet were stuck in the silver on the ground. Daiki spun around in the air and stabbed his left blade into the ground, suspending him in the air so that he could spin and kick Akira in the face multiple times. Akira?s shadow jumped at Daiki but Daiki?s body immediately release many spikes of silver that stabbed Akira?s shadow by releasing spiritual energy to repel it. Daiki got to his feet and opened up his hand, shooting out 15 spikes of silver from his palm at Akira. Akira?s shadow absorbed them. Daiki clenched his fist and opened it again, revealing 5 small bullets of silver that were about 1 cubic inch each. He inserted them all into his knuckles and pointed his fist at a large wall after turning around.
Daiki: *looks over shoulder at Akira* Check this out?*smirks* These are my silver bullet. *clenches fist*
One bullet shot at the large wall and Daiki turned around. As he did, the entire wall collapsed. Daiki turned back to Akira and shot one bullet at him, but Akira dodged it (matrix style) and then swung his sword, sending a burst of dark energy and reiatsu at Daiki. Daiki pointed his fist again and shot another bullet at the blast of reiatsu, but it easily broke through the blast of reiatsu and continued toward Akira. Akira?s shadow hit it away, but it?s hand was severed and the bullet curved around and hit Akira in the side of his gut, causing him to fall over in pain. Akira?s gut gushed blood and he groaned in pain. Daiki laughed and then pointed his fist at Akira again. Akira got up and then Daiki shot his last two bullets. Akira?s shadow jumped in front of him and absorbed them, but suddenly, the shadow exploded and became nothing more.
Akira: O_O
Daiki: It?s over, Akira. *points hand at Akira and one more bullet appears in finger* It?s been a nice battle.
Akira: Damn! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! I hate using this. Dammit all! >< *pulls out a black scroll and begins to paint*
Daiki: What are you doing? 0_o
Akira painted a shadow on the scroll and it rose out of the scroll and merged into the ground and became his shadow.
Akira: Bankai...
