Chapter 25- The Viper and Peacock
Tobi ran down one of the corridors in Las Noches and stumbled across a black box. Curious, he opened up the box only to find hundreds of snakes slithering in the box and they all hissed at Tobi. Tobi jumped back, tossing the box away from himself and onto the ground where the snakes all slithered out of it and darted off down the corridor.
???: Hey, you lost my pets!
TOBI!: Wha???
???: Those were my pets and because of you they?re now loose! By the way, who are you, shinigami?
TOBI!: Oh?3rd Division Captain, TOBI!
???: Okay, Tobi, then I have to kill you regardless of if you lost my snakes or not. *places hand on sword*
The arrancar had black hair and when he opened his mouth, his fangs showed to be extremely long. His hands were completely covered by his oversized sleeves that extended two feet past his hands. His zanpakuto was a 16th Century Rapier with a red hilt and a slot for poison in the hilt.
???: I?m going to skewer you! *charges at Tobi with zanpakuto* Now die, 3rd Division Captain!
TOBI!: Not a chance!
Tobi unsheathed his zanpakuto, a regular weapon, and punched the arrancar in the face while holding his sword tightly. The arrancar barely flinched and grabbed Tobi?s neck and began to strangle him. He held Tobi up and stabbed him in the arm with his rapier.
???: Heh?how does that feel, Tobi? Are you in a world of pain yet, or should I grind that pain deeper into your mind?
TOBI!: >.< *points zanpakuto at ???* Katsu (Explode), Fuannai!
Tobi?s sword was suddenly surrounded by a huge mass of reiatsu. The tip of the sword released a small ball of condensed spiritual energy that floated toward the arrancar and suddenly exploded in his face.
???: GAH!!>_<
TOBI!: Hehe?Fuannai makes small balls of reiatsu that explode, but now you already know that! Katsu, Fuannai!
The arrancar swiped the next ball of reiatsu aside with his rapier and then sheathed his sword.
???: Hmph. Perhaps I misjudged you, Tobi. Now that you?ve hurt me, I can go all out against you. Don?t forget my name, because it will be the last time you hear it! Anderes Vandelvira.
TOBI!: Okay Anderes, let?s put an end to this! Shikai Attack #2: Kyousei Katsu!
Tobi?s zanpakuto glowed bright orange and then as it was about to explode, Anderes appeared behind Tobi and sliced him across his back with his zanpakuto. Tobi fell to the ground and coughed up blood. He struggled to get up, and when he finally got to his feet he was knocked aside by Anderes.
Anderes: Weak. I can?t believe you captain class shinigami are this dense. I?ll put an end to your misery right now. *points sword at Tobi?s neck*
Suddenly, Anderes was hit by a small fireball that distracted him temporarily but didn?t damage him any bit. He looked to his right and there was Tobi?s 3rd Seat, Hasashi.
Hasashi: Don?t hurt my captain or I?ll have to step in.
TOBI!: No?Hasashi, run! Nobody asked you to come here!
Hasashi: Well, we?ve decided that since you?re our new captain, we have no choice but to protect you as well. Right, guys?
Behind Hasashi stood the entire 3rd Division, armed and ready for battle. They were all carrying different weapons: clubs, maces, katanas, broadswords, flails, nodachis, and other weapons. Tobi was so surprised that they had all come to help him. The squad charged at Anderes and surrounded him, and as they did they attacked with all of their strength. Unfortunately, it wasn?t enough. Anderes released all of his reiatsu to force them back and away from him, causing them to fly back and hit the ground.
TOBI!: Everyone?thank you. U_U I will protect everyone!
Anderes: What will you do now?
TOBI!: Bankai!! Yuuen Katsu Fuannai!
Tobi?s reiatsu exploded and began to crush everyone in the room except for Anderes. He smirked and then laughed a sinister laugh. Tobi?s sword changed into a rod that has two curved blades that curved toward each other on one end, and one blade that curved inward on the other end. (
Anderes: That?s more like it!
Anderes charged at Tobi with his rapier and slash quickly and skillfully. Tobi blocked the attacks with his zanpakuto and then jabbed the doubled-curved blade end of his sword into Anderes? torso. Anderes? chest began to bleed from a deep cut, and Tobi swung the blade again, this time cutting a gash in Anderes? shoulder easily.
Anderes: >_< Oww?that hurt! Well, at least I know that you?re strong enough to stand up against me and win while I haven?t released yet.
TOBI:! You won?t get the chance! Explosive Chain!
Multiple balls of reiatsu were suddenly released from Fuannai and they chained together to form a long chain of explosive orbs that surrounded Anderes and bound him in their grip.
TOBI!: Katsu!
Anderes: Like hell! Takurami(Trick), Enga?o V?bora!
A purple light burst out of Anderes? mouth and then his eyes and soon his entire body. The light spread and filled the entire corridor. As Tobi?s chain of reiatsu exploded, so did Anderes and the light engulfed the entire room in its brightness. As the smoke cleared, what appeared to be a snake?s tongue made a hissing noise. Tobi stepped forward and was suddenly hit by a giant flailing tail! The smoke finally cleared revealed a half-man, half-viper type arrancar. It was Anderes? Ressurrecion. He slithered toward Tobi extremely fast and then used sonido right as Tobi was about to stab him to get behind Tobi and cut him with his hand which was now a large snake?s head. Even his hair was a bunch of snakes. Anderes slithered toward Tobi again and seeped his fangs into Tobi?s blade, tossing it aside when he did and continuing toward Tobi. Tobi tried to punch Anderes, but was smacked aside by the arrancar?s other hand. Anderes hissed and when he did, a number on his tongue showed; it was the number ?6?.
TOBI!: That?s your rank? O_O
Anderes: *smirks* Yeah, check it out. *sticks tongue out* Sexta Espada, Anderes Vandelvira! Now, die?t?xico.
Anderes opened his mouth and a purple mist came out of his mouth and spread throughout the corridor.
TOBI!: Everyone! Cover your mouths and noses. Do not breathe in the toxins!
Anderes: So you saw through it, eh?
TOBI!: No, but I?ve had experiences with colorful mists.
Anderes: Ha! You?re a funny one, Tobi. Enjoy your last breath of life! El Veneno!
Anderes charged at Tobi with his fang bared, longer than a foot long, and he bit Tobi in the arm. Oddly enough, nothing at all happened to Tobi, which surprised Anderes.
Anderes: My reiatsu?there was no reiatsu behind that attack?why? What the hell?s going on here? What did you do?
TOBI!: I don?t know?
???: Freakin? useless?I can?t believe you can?t defeat this guy with your abilities. Well?I guess it can?t be helped. You lack experience in battle. An opponent that?s faster and stronger than you isn?t hard to beat really. You just need to watch his attack patterns and predict his next move. If you can do that, you can correctly counter him.
Anderes: Who are you?! O_O
???: Former 3rd Division Captain, Yumichika Ayasegawa.
TOBI!: Yumichika? What?re you doing here?
Hasashi: Captain!
Yumichika: I heard you needed some help, well?I saw the whole squad going so I decided to follow them to see what?s up. You got beat up pretty badly, Tobi.
Anderes: What did you do?
Yumichika: I sucked out the reiatsu that you were putting behind that attack to nullify its effect. That is one my zanpakuto, Ruri'iro Kujaku?s, special abilities.
Anderes: Heh?so, that?s it huh? No problem! *charges purple cero* Sangre Cero!
Yumichika: Bankai?U_U
Yumichika?s reiatsu surrounded him in a huge azure and green aura. Ruri?iro Kujaku?s blades glowed permanent azure and smoke surrounded Yumichika. When the smoke cleared, Anderes fire his cero at Yumichika, but it was subsequently blocked by Yumichika. Where the cero had hit was a flock of peacock feathers that protected Yumichika. Behind him was the ethereal form of a giant azure peacock and he was wearing a coat of feathers and was surrounded by five eyes.
Yumichika: Ruri?iro Kujaku no Banshou. Sayounara, Espada?
Anderes: What is that? That reiatsu?O_O It?s insane.
Yumichika: This is my bankai. All the reiatsu that I have absorbed from past enemies is released and that reiatsu becomes my ultimate weapon. *50 vines of peacock feathers grab Anderes and drain his reiatsu* Let me show you as your reiatsu is depleted slowly.
Yumichika swung Ruri?iro Kujaku and a fireball-like blast of azure reiatsu flew at Anderes and hit him, causing a large explosion of reiatsu. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, Anderes was bleeding in several areas and had severe damage to him. His face was burnt and he bruises on his arms. And on top of all that, his spiritual power was being drained. Yumichika walked up to him fearlessly and drew a green diamond on the ground around Anderes with his zanpakuto.
Yumichika: Mure no Umou Kujaku (Flock of the Peacock Feathers)
Yumichika?s zanpakuto exploded into a thousand peacock that floated to the ground slowly. As each one touched the ground within the large diamond, they glowed azure quickly and melted into the ground, and each time they did the lines that formed the diamond glowed. When the last one fell to the ground, the entire diamond glowed azure and huge diamond-shaped vertical blast of reiatsu shot up into the air, destroying everything within the diamond, including the ceiling, leaving nothing the in wake of blast as the diamond cleared.
Yumichika: Nothing more than mere child?s play.
