That would explain alot, but it can't be correct. Blackbeard joined Whitebeard at the age of 16. And someone as powerful as to almost reach Raftel couldn't pass by unnoticed, especially if he was that young. It would certainly explain why he got the initial crew, his aim and why he fought with Shanks, but nah.

I didn't knew that he was 16 when he joined. Can you please provide where in manga can I check about that??!!! And considering what you said is true, I think all those years he spent on WB's ship, he could have dome good research about Raftel!!! I still do not see how he got involved with Shanks!!!

He is gonna be a major antagonist to this episode and I would want him to be dead so easily!!!! Luffy has to have a major duel with him and then seeing him go down would be justifiable to both characters

interesting theory, the flag is probably the strongest support, though as Kagutsuchi mentioned seems a bit over the top. since i don't see how luffy's emperors haki would come into play against BB unless there's something about that haki we dont know, for instance it, overpowers the will of weaker minds..BB def doesnt't fall in that category.
why he left the new world... wasn bb initially intending to capture luffy in order to join the 7 warlords but his plan didnt go through n bumping into ace wasnt his choice. plus as one of the other members mentioned BB most probably left new world to stay away from encountering WB

i believe Blackbeard had eaten Devil Fruit long before he has got his hands on Yami Yami no Mi. mystical Zoan Fruit - Inu Inu no Mi: Model Cerberus/Kerberos. This could explain three-headed Jolly Roger that BB has. Later he aquired Yami Yami no Mi (we all know how). He ate it with his Cerberos' second mouth (since first mouth was already 'used' by Zoan Fruit). This somehow prevented him from dying caused by eating two Devil Fruits. Finally, at Marineford he used his Yami Yami power to extract Gura Gura no Mi fruit (or sole GuraGura power) from dead Whitebeard (We know Yami Yami no Mi can meddle with DF users' power so maybe it can do that.) and he cosumed it (be it fruit or said extracted power of GuraGura Fruit) with his Cerberos' third mouth. I've been thinking about it. What if he came to Drum Kingdom to speak with Dr. Kureha? I think there might be some kind of organization linking all the badass old people we met, naming Dr. Kureha, Dr. Clover and Dr. Vegapunk as some. It would have some kind of link with the Void Century or the Revolutionaries. Maybe Blackbeard infiltrated the organization and stole some information about how to reach the end of Grandline, or maybe a secret that would allow him to take the World Government's place as the ruler of the world.

I thought about that too, and I think it's a very plausible theory. I don't know if I'd like to see Blackbeard turn into a monster, because I prefer him to have a normal human appearance, yet super badass.

The whole theory is based on the number 3 like skulls on BB flag and across Shank's face. which lead to speculation that BB had another fruit before the Yomi Yomi (We now know BB had a fang like weapon in the past).

Besides Oda already used a Cerberus in thriller bark. I mean if BB really is a Cerberus I don't think Oda would picture it like that.

I don't think it's the cerberus fruit that gave him power to eat 3 fruits. I think it's the power of darkness from the yomi yomi that can nullify DF powers that enables BB to eat 2/maybe multiple fruits. But honestly I hope 2 is his limit. It would really wreck the story if he can eat anymore.

Oda always has been very careful with giving powers and bounties and haki. The last thing I want is that suddenly the NW is infested with 10000000000000000 bounty heads with all kinds of haki and overpowered skills and that BB has to eat 3 fruits and become like some Power Ranger boss who is undefeatable. Super ultimate power ranger fusion attack and big explosion in the background.
