This is better than the zoro is fishman theory indeed ...

But it seems unlikely to say the least. As was mentioned its been stated that they are hunting down powerful DF users, so naturally it would mean more number of DF's are being absorbed by BB. When I think about it, he may have found a way to make the fruit appear immediately after the said persons death, so he may now be sharing DFs with his entire crew

Blackbeard theory​

At the moment it's unknown how Marshall D. Teach managed to steal Whitebeard's devil fruit powers. I have a theory about this and how Blackbeard is able to have two devil fruit powers at the same time. I'm not sure if this has been posted before or not, so you might have read it somewhere else.

As of now, we know that Blackbeard has two Devil Fruits within him, the Yami Yami no Mi and the Gura Gura no Mi. There are certain beliefs that prior to obtaining these two, he has a Zoan-type fruit. A possible name for the could be: Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Cerberus.

There are certain instances that back-up this claim. The Blackbeard Pirates' Jolly Roger, Shanks' wound, and the mere Existence of a Cerberus in the One Piece World.


Jolly Roger:

The Jolly Roger, or the Pirate Flag, help determine who belong to whose crew. The designs usually reflect the interest of the captain. At other times it may be physical resemblance or the symbols behind them. In some sense, there is a reason or story for every Jolly Roger design.

For some reason, the design of the flag of the Blackbeard Pirates show three skulls side by side. There hasn't been any explicit reasons for this but it might be revealed.

Shanks' Wound:

One other instance that aids the Cerberus claim, it is the wound on the left eye of Shanks. It consists of three diagonal scratch marks.

In Chapter 434, Shanks speaks with Whitebeard about Ace and eventually about Blackbeard as well. Shanks tells him that it was Blackbeard that caused the wound.

It was also shown that Blackbeard had some kind of claw weapon, just as you can see here:

He might use this (iron?) claw because of his instinct as a Cerberus, or it might just be a hint from Oda that this guy really has a third devil fruit, a Zoan-Type.


Existence:

Well somehow, this quote seems to be true. In Chapter 444 there was shown a Cerberus in Thriller Bark.

... and as you can see, it was referred to as "Cerberus" by the weak-trio, thus stating it as a known beast in the One Piece world, real or not. This also proves the possibility of a devil fruit with Cerberus powers.


That is my theory about Blackbeard's powers, and I believe he has three devil fruit powers (The dark dark fruit, the tumor tumor fruit, and the Cerberus Cerberus fruit). Tell me what you think, thanks for your attention.

A nice theory and i really liked the idea of Cerberus

i read somewhere that BB is on the hunt for a Zoan which could give him the ability to fly
or a zoan that could give him wings like Laffitte
how about Marco's mythical zoan df?
he would also be able to regenerate himself (even if it was stated that BB has an incredible endurance).

+ if defeat Marco he could dominate the rest of the WBs to serve under him.
