Black Zetsu is Key for Madara's revival, he implanted his mind into Black Zetsu so he could retain everything without and hindrances, retaining his EMS/Rinnegan since he awakened them. Senju Body, Uchiha Mind/Brain(which is key for the Sharingan to work.. He will be reborn as the Sage of the Six Paths, with even larger scale Jutsu.

If he pulls out his rinnegan it will turn into dust and regenerate on his eyes.. He would have to harvest Obito's for this to happen but you are right about Zetsu being a good possibility.

He claimed to be the earth itself, doesn't mean he actually is. He was just an android birthed from the gedo statue mixed with some of hashi DNA + madara's will....so that makes him the earth? Oh and BTW he's dead
