Hey just wanted to drop some random facts about the real life pirate bellamy who was apparently pretty damn different than the real life bellamy.

1. He was referred to as the robin hood of the sea and was posthumously named as forbes #1 top earning pirate.

2. He started as a treasure hunter in florida looking for sunken spanish galleons but quickly let go of such dreams and started pirating. The first ship he joined was commanded by captain Benjamin Horngold, where apparently both him and Edward "Black Beard" Teach were apprentices.

3. Bellamy went to captain his own ship the whydah where he was known for his mercy. Bellamy would spare a lot of the people and pirates he would end up raiding. Which gave him the name of the prince of pirates. He would also gave the male slaves on ships he raided the choice to stay enslaved or become a pirate with him. Which gave his crew the nick name hands of different nations, since there were blacks, whites, native americans, and caribbeans all on the same ship.

4. Clearly the real Bellamy is pretty different from the one piece one we know. Here's two famous quotes from him to get an idea of his mindstate.

4.1 "They villify us, the Scoundrels do, when there is only this Difference, they rob the Poor under the Cover of Law, forsooth, and we plunder the Rich under the Protection of our own Courage..."

4.2 "Tho', damn ye, you are a sneaking Puppy, and so are all those who will submit to be governed by Laws which rich Men have made for their own Security, for the cowardly Whelps have not the Courage otherwise to defend what they get by their Knavery..."

5. One big parrallel to bellamy and the show is that when his ship was salvaged in 1984 they found a giant golden bell almost like the one on sky island.

6. I heard he was called 'Black Sam" because he worse his dark hair loose and didn't cover it with a wig, as was the traditional fashion of the time.

7. My last random fact is that the real bellamy died from a giant wave or a storm. and it kinda makes me think of one piece bellamy always saying that he needs to get on doflamingo's ship before the big wave comes and changes the world.
