Black metal

What is peoples view on Black Metal?

I like this genre. Two of my favorite bands within this genre is Gorgoroth and Rotting Christ (more SymphBlack, but meh...)

Why do you like this genre?
Why do you dislike this genre?

I like it because it is very different from what is concidered 'popular', and I like that my music taste is different (sounds kinda hipster, but whatever xD)
But I do also like it because I think it sounds really awesome, both the instrumental and the vocals.

Try not to make this a discussion about religion
You may discuss if you think black metal have been traveling away from its satanic roots, but try not to bring in other religions

Gorgoroth is great, as are Mayhem, Burzum, Arch Enemy, and Darkthrone. Black metal is great

Overall, I'm not a metal fan. I appreciate the musical talent and classical music origins of metal, but it's not really my style.
