Looks: Faceless and nameless, Black Mage's existence is whimsical with a touch of mystique, and his looks reflect that. Black Mage isn't particularly tall, yet not particularly short, nor is he particularly thick or particularly thin. Most interestingly, however, is the fact that he never shows his face, and instead keeps it shrouded in a black mask which stretches all the way around to the back of his head. The mask is utterly featureless with the exception of two large, yellow eyes, which he indeed sees out of.
He wears a blue cloak over a bright blue shirt and blue-green pants. At his waist, he wears a large leather belt with several pouches attached to it, as well as matching leather boots and gloves. Although he occasionally switches hats, he typically wears a wizard hat in a color that matches his cloak. To round off his wizardly appearance, he carries a somewhat gnarled staff. Additionally, the whole ensemble is sparingly draped with jewels, feathers, etc.
Personality: "A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). Mute, spontaneous and whimsical, Black Mage falls into the chaotic neutral alignment and exemplifies it quite well. A mute, Black Mage is completely unable to speak, and must thus express himself to others through non-verbal queues and his body language. This, in addition to having no affiliations, cause Black Mage's actions to be extremely hard to predict as his motives are incredibly hard to discern if they even exist. He does, however, seem to be drawn to conflict as he invariably follows where it leads.

Unsurprisingly, nothing is known of Black Mage's origin. One day, he simply began to appear alongside events of importance, and influencing them to greatly varying degrees. Though there are whispers that this mysterious poltergeist is an heir to far more sinister powers than he lets on, these rumors seem to be untrue.
