I find the depiction of 'human royalty' a bit too caricaturesque; then again it explains as how a chump like the current king was born with so many magic power: they stole it from the elves. Can't shake the thought that this is a bit too simple. I mean they apparently can make such a powerful magic artifact, but are at the same time shallow and simple? Doesn't really match.

I agree Humans just attacking the Elves and that's it does seem far to simple. Read enough stories to know it can't be that simple. The only way it would be is if the series was ending after the current arc and there's just no way that's happening.

I feel like we're going to find out it wasn't humans at all that did this. I don't think the first Wizard King would let his sister get murdered. I feel like it's either an Elf that hated the idea of humans and elves coming together? Or a 3rd party we don't know about yet?

Still not buying that the current Wizard King is dead either, or at least he won't stay dead.

I enjoyed the chapter but what caught my eye was the suggestion that using the sword to cancel the reincarnation magic effect is going to bite Asta back in some way.... Not sure if writer plans to expand on it just yet or only leaving a hook to use some day if needed.

I thought maybe it meant having to carry the burden of sealing away people who really aren't that bad.
