First of all, I just wanted to say that Infinite is an awesome Game!!! The awesomness is Over 9000.

I've played the Game several times and I've never asked myself, Who the hell is that dead man in the Lighthouse!?

First I tought it was Booker, but than I came to the conclusion that it was simply the Guardian of that Lighthouse, hired by Comstock from the beginning (because he knew I'd come).

And also in the Lutece labs, you find a picture of the Lighthouse with a red circle marked around it and the words "ONLY ONE OBSTACLE" next to it. Their plan was to send Booker through the lighthouse, and the only obstacle was the man guarding it himself.

So the Lutece Twins murdered that Guy or they did hire someone to do that Job, to let me pass.
And I also think that he was tortured to give the Info/Code to how to activate that Machine to get to Columbia.

Yup .. Just wanted to clear that up.

Seems a little convoluted, but most of the game did. I really enjoyed it until the revelation at the end. Not to spoil anything, but it really didn't make a whole lot of sense

It was a good game, a lot of people didn't understand or like the ending.

I liked the ending. I thought it was good.
If you hadn't played the other 2 Bioshock's, it wouldn't have made much sense. But as it stands, I really enjoyed it.

I think your lighthouse theory is correct too. that's what I thought on my 2nd playthrough.
The guy in the lighthouse was hired to stop anybody getting to Columbia, so the twins murdered/tortured the guy into giving them the codes to get there. All to make sure that the current version of Booker made it to Columbia, in order to kill his alternate self.
