Alright people I'm a BIONICLE fan and I just found out last night that LEGO rebooted the franchise and a new storyline is up for 2015. Now, BIONICLE is a very dear thing to me specifically because the story is so great it outshined the entire point of them being LEGO sets. Now seeing as how it took me a lot of time to pick up everything about the enormous world of BIONICLE I don't really plan on following the reboot but so far it seems cool. A bit toned down to suit LEGO style more but still cool since the original first set didn't show much more promise than the new ones.

So I'm interested. Is there anyone else here who likes/liked BIONICLE or followed the storyline and read the comics? :)

Believe it or not, I did. While the one to play with the actual toys was my brother, I used to be quite into the storyline/universe. I watched the movies, read those motion comics/animations on the web site and tried my best to follow the mythology, even though I did get confused eventually due to it spanning over a rather large time period.

Bro! I got all the new ones for that year that christmas every year. I always enjoyed making my own up. My favourite were the ooold ones that curled up and rolled and had a trigger to make it headbutt and you could get different rubbery brains/faces.

I'm not going to lie, I'm excited. I absolutely loved this stuff as a kid, and I'm glad to see it returning. Welcome back, Bionicle.

wow you keep suprising me. n.n
I also followed them for the storyline and never really was into LEGO but they just had some charm to them. The first set I got was Phantoka and it was Vamprah of all things. xD I ended up collecting the whole Phantoka set (except for the titans and the Matorans so only Toa Nuva and Makuta) and later I bought a few Glatorians and my last set was a Brutaka titan. :3
And yeah the story was suprisingly confusing for a toy set. I mean seriously so many plot twists and details and still a lot of questions unanswered. Definitely could have been a lot more if it wasn't a LEGO property but oh well. Anyway it took me like 2 years or so to figure out exactly what the hack happened seeing as how I joined pretty late.

(The hardest thing to get was the fact that the island of Mata Nui was actually on Mata Nui's face and that all the locations such as Metru Nui and co were actually inside the Mata Nui robot while he himself was just an inhabitant of Aqua Magna wich was yet again a fragment of the Spherus Magna wich is again a part of a larger universe. My head hurt so much back then. xD)

lol the ones you're talking about were called the Bohrok. The second set. Here they are.

I think I know what you're talking about. Is it Gadunka? This one?

Here you can see the entire biography of the thing. It's actually a Rahi of an underwater world of Mahri Nui. ^.^

We actually had all six "classic" Toa (the first ones), as well as Turaga Matau and three Bohrok (also the first wave ones) - the ice, air and water ones. After that my brother went on to more complicated Lego Technic stuff (the large machines and vehicles since he liked the process of assembling them more than storylines). And yeah, the final part with Mata Nui was indeed quite mind-blowing.

lol I never really liked other LEGO since they were just falling appart as soon as you touch them. I used them to make short videos picture by picture since they actually had quite the good mobility. :D

Fav characters?

I'm afraid I don't remember most of them  it was quite a long time ago.

Oh lol. Well describing them would do the trick seeing as how I pretty much remembered all the other ones. Anyway my favs are the Glatorian Gresh, Mata Nui, Teridax, Mistika version of Tahu, Dark Takanuwa, pretty much all versions of Lewa, Brutaka, Axxon, Toa Jaller, Toa Matoro (the most heroic dude of all) and the list goes on because there were a lot of cool characters. XD

No, I meant that I don't remember who I used to like anymore. I don't think I ever had anyone I loved too much, or who really stood out, though most of them seemed likable to me.

Im a Bionicle dan. Loved them when I was a kid. I really liked the story and design. Glad to see Lego reeboting it(would have been better to continue old storyline)
