History:
Kai was born on 23rd of December in a small house on the outskirts of Konohagakure. His mother and father were both jonins, senseis to their teams of genins. They were pretty young and have just started their ninja career. He got his name as his mother was a famous genjutsu user, so she used kai a lot while training, When Kai was born his father was on a mission, escorting a noble to Rice country. On the way he and his teammates were killed by unknown ninjas.
When his mother found out about that she decided that it is best that they move to his grandma’s house so she could help her. Grandma lived in the center of the village, as she got the house as a reward for loyal service. At 97 she was one of the oldest people in Konoha, but she was still pretty agile for her age.
As Kai grew up he got interested in drawing and, afterwards, training. He has won several KKD (Konoha’s Kids Draw) awards which made his mother very proud. Grandma was always angry how he spends so much time drawing, while he should really be training. Meanwhile his mother returned to being a sensei and, because of the missions, wasn’t home very often. When Kai was 7 she was sent as a diplomat to Kumogakure. That meant that Kai was stuck with his grandma. She started making him train really hard, much more than he wanted. He hated his grandma at that time.
At age 12 he joined the Academy in Konoha. Having 5 years too much of experience, the school wasn’t really hard for him. He did pretty well on theory classes even tho he hated them. On the other hand he loved the practice work and was one of the best students. It was weird as genjutsu practices, as when anybody would yell “Kai!” he would turn around thinking they were calling him. As he made loads of friends in school, his pranky personality came to the surface. He made fun of the teachers and other students, pranked and became one of the class clowns. Other students loved it. The teachers, on the other hand, not so much. This drove his grandma mad and lead to countless fights between the two. After he graduated he promised his grandma he would behave better. Of course, he didn’t.
He got more into training and that was one of the things that made his grandma happy. They were receiving letters from his mom from time to time. He still missed her and wanted to see her. She came home when he graduated to congratulate him. He knew she was very proud. She stayed with them for several weeks, after which she had to return to Kumo. She was sad to see her go again but he knew she was trying to maintain good relations between the two villages. He decided to get stronger.
