Looks: Mikoto has light brown hair with a hair-clip on the right side of her hair and her eyes are the same color as her hair. She is also shown to be insecure about her body, feeling inferior when compared to girls with bigger bust sizes. She also wears a school uniform, with light brown shirt and a gray skirt. She's been seen with other clothes such as a maid's outfit, one piece swimsuit, tennis outfit, traditional Japanese dress and normal teenage clothing. She is about 161 centimeters tall.
Personality: To most people, she is considered a 'proper lady,' but in reality, she's short-tempered, prideful, and has an improper attitude with some slight tomboyish tendencies and insecurities- a fact few people know of. Despite this, she is generally friendly and easygoing and she doesn't look down on other people. Often times she shows an incredibly childish, selfish, competitive side and even slight “tsundere tendencies” (Tsundere refers to a personality type, a person who acts sharp and tough on the outside, but in reality is a caring and loving person on the inside) along with confused affections when taunted by a rival. She has a keen sense of justice and, according to her friends Mikoto naturally acts a leader, and becomes the center of everyone, and yet she cannot mingle with those people regardless of being the center. Mikoto is also notably smart.

Background History and Information:
Misaka was born to Misuzu (Mother) and Misaka Tabikake (Father) in the Village Hidden in the Land of Lighting, Kumogakure. As an early child, her father wasn't home that often because he was always busy traveling away on business trips, which made Mikoto's relationship with her mum somewhat stronger. As a kid Misaka was always cheerful and sociable, playing with almost every other kid in her neighborhood. Even though she was popular among the people she played with, she didn't really have a person she could call "a real friend" which made her sad every time she thought about it. Misaka showed an interest in ninjas at a very early age. She always urged her mum to perform little "magic tricks" using her Lighting Affinity and used to enjoy watching her practice her Lighting techniques. Because of her interest in ninjas and in hopes of finding a best friend, she joined Kumogakure's Training Academy at the early age of eight. Once enrolled, she became one of the best students, graduating in second place in her year's top five students. Misaka got everything done and correct, wether it was a classwork assignment or a technique she had to master. Although her academic life was flawless, she had trouble finding that "real friend" she wanted so desperately. Because of the failure in doing so, Misaka grew insecurities concerning her personality. She always questioned herself why she couldn't find a "real friend" with her sociable and extroverted charisma. After graduating from the Academy, she became a little more mature and a whole lot more responsible in attitude and was very exited to be a part of the next step in becoming a strong shinobi, the Chunin Exams. This subtle change in personality was mainly due to her academic success while she was in the Academy. Naturally, her dad wasn't there at the graduation and had written to Misuzu and Misaka that he would be returning in a year. This caused Misaka's relationship with her mum to grow even more, but this time, a little different. Misuzu has a more carefree and youthful attitude than her daughter. This caused their relationship to slightly more antagonistic, as Misuzu's irresponsibility and immaturity is the polar opposite of her daughter's mature and responsible nature, with the latter regularly and openly shouting "Shut up!" to Misaka in public. Misuzu also always teased Misaka with her 'problems" developing sustainable social relationships, a thing that really bothered Misaka.

The Chunin Exams finally came, and Misaka was determined to ace them and become a powerful Chunin, one of the best. Misaka passed the Written Test without breaking a sweat, answering all the questions correct and moving to the second examination with plenty of confidence. As the Second Stage developed, she easily acquired the Scroll of Heaven and the Scroll of Earth with the help of her teammates, granting her access to the third examination of the Chunin Exams; the Tournament. In here, she successfully defeated her first opponent in the first round, contrary to her two teammates who failed to pass to the second round. She managed to defeat every opponent and land in the finale match. Here, after an all-out battle, Misaka lost, but due to her splendid performance and intricate knowledge of her skills, the Raikage decided to award her a title of Chunin. Misaka, although given the rank, having a competitive personality she was upset because she had lost. She vowed never to give up and to fight against her opponent again, to prove that she could in fact win.

The years passed and Misaka advanced to the rank of S-Jounin because of her developed skills and completion of missions. She then received a small genin team composed of three students. Misaka trained these three students and later made them into formidable ninjas by ranking all three up to Chunin. Even though Misaka was helping around the village and completing missions assigned by the Raikage, she was experiencing some personal problems. Misaka had dreamed of exploring the world and partaking in adventures of epic proportions. She had wanted to journey the seas and while she was at it, she wanted to become the best shinobi she could be. She wanted to protect the weak and help the good but all she was doing was helping out with trivial requests around the village and completing simple missions. Besides, there was no sensei to continue her advance skills. In the meantime, Misuzu was slowly drowning into alcoholism. She had a liking into hard liquor and parties but lately she had been losing control. When she became drunk, she used to go and flirt with any young guy she found attractive. Other than this, she would scream at Misaka and sometimes even hit her if Misaka annoyed or bothered her. Misuzu's careless behavior was starting to affect Misaka emotionally since while she was drunk, she would hit or insult Misaka with things that concerned her like her ability to develop relationships; also since her father was still not home, she decided to take measures into her own hands. Misaka was convinced her father was not coming back, since he had not returned in over two years after writing that he would return in a year. Misaka saw this as a perfect opportunity and sought adventure. She left a note in her mum's bedroom explaining her soon-to-be action and ventured into the world. She set on in an adventure to become the best shinobi she could and to explore the world. She would return once she had accomplish her goals and would visit once her mum got better.
