From the latest chapter we saw. Kaguya transformed into a rabbit bijuu and escaped from the Gedo. What if all the bijuus come from different dimensions like Thor. Kishi likes to base his ideas with myths. There are nine realms in the galaxy and nine bijuus. These bijuus are aliens from those civilizations! Weirded if you think about it. Each bijuu are also able to go to their own portals of different landscapes

Not that that wouldn't be cool, but I think it would throw off the type of series that naruto has defined itself to be. Although Obito and Kaguya's powers have pretty much changed it anyways.
