It's not really a plothole, but a discarded and unelaborated plot device that became irrelevant. A plothole is something that contradicts established plot principles without any official or unoffical explanation. We don't know the family tree of all the clans and characters so it's incorrect to call it a hole. I'll be using them in my fanfiction and revealing their origins though lols.

I didn't like them, Kishi downgraded Naruto's abilities by giving fodder shinobi power to control Kyuubi chakra -_- I honestly wish I could see current Naruto stomp them with KCM just to tell them who the real jinchuuriki is :eww:
