Hiruzen was a threat. not all uchihas have EMS and ma sure that Hiruzen>MSuchihas

that was mainly because of immunity to visual genjutsu. not all uchihas have weapons like Itachi does

the uchiha were too proud and power to have anyone be called their nightmare... but their downfall if they had been allowed to coup would of been a combination of danzo and hiruzen (and all of the anbu as well as the village ninja clans)... orochimaru didnt care about the clan in whole, just wanted one for his resurection.... tobirama was kept in check by his brother, and probably didnt go after for his brothers wishes either...
