The problem is people on the base look at that fight and assume Itachi went all out and barely won.

Just because Itachi wasn't trying to kill doesn't mean that he was holding back, that's something you guys don't understand,
he was trying to win and
didn't do a good job of it. Kabuto also held back. Sasuke kept saving Itachi's ass, if Kabuto didn't need Sasuke alive then there would had been nothing protecting Itachi. Also, Kabuto never used any of his Edo Tenseis.
It's also funny how you insist on throwing that around. I think that's one of the reasons Itachi's fans like him so much, they can assume whatever they want about him even if it isn't true.
Besides, if you're right then Itachi isn't all that intelligent either. Sasuke tells Itachi that Kabuto has Orochimaru's abilities so they don't have to worry about taking it easy, and Sasuke shows this by shooting giant arrows, fireballs, Amaterasu, and trying to chop Kabuto to pieces. I don't think you are right though because Itachi tried to cut off Kabuto's head and failed.

Kabuto was holding back, he couldn't kill Itachi who kept saving Itachi and he didn't use any Edo Tenseis. Itachi also wasn't holding back, he was trying to win and he was far more powerful than he ever was when alive. Sasuke wasn't holding back and did the attacking for both of them, yet his efforts were fruitless since Kabuto could counter their abilities.
Izanami was not activated until after Itachi was bisected. Even then that was the second time he was "killed."

Either way. Itachi walked out with the win. Without the Orochimaru DNA, Kabuto is just another folder. Not once in the anime have Itachi ever been a folder.I thought Kabuto was cool before he got that ugly sage mode. Kabuto could go on fighting all night but all Itachi was focused on was ending the jutsu as soon as he possibly could. Meaning that he was ready to get ripped apart as many times as needed to get the job done. Itachi is more then aware on what is happening on the battle field. Kabuto pride is what got in the way and he was defeated. Sasuke was more in the way then anything.

Itachi couldn't afford to let himself get killed because then Kabuto would make him his slave again while he's regenerating, which Sasuke stopped Kabuto from doing twice. Living Itachi also couldn't take that risk since he'd die, and doesn't have unlimited charkra like zombie Itachi. Sasuke was more in the way of Kabuto.

Just so you know. Itachi wasn't trying to kill Kabuto. He could have, But he needed to release edo tensei. Also you realize half of what you posted didn't even happen as he was in Izanami early on. PLEASE read the manga or anything again. Literally nealy none of the fight was real.

Itachi couldn't kill Kabuto, he could counter all of Itachi's abilities.
Kabuto wasn't in Izanami until after the second time Kabuto stabbed Itachi, which was after Itachi was cut in half and Kabuto had that scuffle with Sasuke.

Itachi saved Sasuke during White Rage and they helped each other when Kabuto nailed them with genjutsu, but Sasuke saved Itachi twice, and Itachi needed Sasuke's help to win.
