[Discussion] Biggest contributor towards this war

i believe that itachi is the biggest contributor, and quietly the smartest and best ninja around right now in the ninja world. He has almost singlehandedly had the biggest impact on this war and if he succeeds, which itachi always does, will be a quiet hero towards the ninja alliance.
To start, ill go back to his contributions towards naruto. When he gave naruto the shisui eye, itachi talked to naruto. Being the super genius he is, understood that naruto was in a place in his life where naruto wasn’t completely sure if he should stay on his path or not. Itachi asked naruto the question naruto did not want to face, if sasuke were to attack konoha, would naruto be able to kill him. Nartuto made a strong decision, being a wiser ninja he understood the importance of killing and protecting but held on to his convictions and said he will save sasuke no matter what. Later naruto recalls that discussion and tells sasuke that they will both have to die if sasuke continues on his path to destroy konoha.
Then, when fighting nagato, itachi sees that naruto is still on his path, but trying to shoulder everything on his own. Talks to him again and makes naruto realize that he is not perfect, all powerful, and has to rely on his friends and the alliance in order to win. It was because of them that naruto became a great ninja, and it will be because of them that naruto will become supreme kage, my personal thought.

Itachi is about to end the edo, with ending the edo he will strike the biggest blow towards tobis army, taking away his most powerful allies right now, mainly being madara, and making it so that all that’s left is tobi and the weak zetsu. Don’t get me wrong, zetsu is an amazing sensor ninja, but that’s about it anymore, the rest of his abilities can be dealt with fairly easy.
When it comes to kabuto, itachi is about to take out the other fighting force tobi has, and kabuto is a big player in this war. Even without his edos, he is one strong mother fer. Itachi however outsmarted him and during this, he is taking care of sasuke, helping guide him in a proper direction. It might not be complete without narutos talk no jutsu, but i’m pretty sure there will be a flashback later of sasuke and itachi talking that helps seal the deal.

I personally think that not one ninja in the ninja world right now could take on itachi. Itachi has the ability to read the battle like a chess board, find a weakness and goes for it. I don’t belies he is much of a team player, only because he doesn’t want to look after anyone, but one on one head to head no one can take him. Both kabuto and tobi have said that itachi is brilliant. He broke free from kabutos edo, a feat that not even madara is capable of.

I agree but what i don't get is why kishi is elongating things here. If Itachi has forced Kabuto to show him how to release the tech, then Kabuto should have released the tech. So how come Edo Madara has'nt been sealed and the 5 kages are still fighting him?

i was wondering that myself, maybe just to show us that the 5 current kage putting everything they have completely together still cant amount to the power that is madahashi. Im not sure, maybe madara can do what itachi did and stop from his edo from ending... love it, it always has me wondering!

Kabuto.

He provided one of the greatest assets for Tobi's army and at the same time provided the tool for his own defeat. Without Kabuto, the 5 villages would have had a much easier time of handling Tobi's forces, as even with Kabutos Edos, they only killed half the allied attack force at a cost of half of their own.

Zetsu is a very close second. He IS the army.

Naruto is out in each battlefield fighting and sensing zetsu clones. Whole fighting Tobi.

guess you forogt kabuto and naruto who are basically the main combatants here. narutos soloing edos and zetsus all over the place and kabuto almost solo'd the alliance (may yet still with madara)

You are all crazy especially this op. Tobi is the major contributor to this war hands down.

As far as Itachis plans succeeding, that couldn't be more wrong; he planned fro sasuke to take on his mantle of saving the village which resulted in Sasuke wanting to destroy the village he planned to die by sasuke's hand but sasuke couldn't kill him and Itachi died mainly from illness.

Tobi on the other hand manipulated the akatuski into doing his dirty work, tricked Kisame, Tricked Itachi who believed him to be Madara Uchiha, and has basically controlled near every action carried out throughout the war
