Even though it's a good theory, regarding research and material, I doubt it.
It doesn't explain BM's huge appetite neither it explains the acid looking saliva.
Also, based on fairytale beliefs witches don't have any interest at candies at all. They prefer to devour children instead, so I don't see how the main fact revealed about Big Mom (her candy love and appetite) is explained by this theory.

what i wanted to point out tho is that her flag seems to portray the four elements as well. the yellow sort of resembling a sun (fire) the tree (earth) the blue sort of looks like a wave (water) and the white looks like a gust of wind. all witch related elements as well.

Every theory has its holes including your acid theory it doesn't explain her whole cake island or her ship singing. And I don't think Oda is that does writting is that cliche to make a witch exactly as it is depicted in other animes or cultures,. He always gives people unique qualities and eating is hers. Also witches were known to eat people

I'm clearly late to this thread, but I thought it was well thought out and I think it'd be an entertaining idea. My personal belief, however, is hat Big Mom will have some sort of Logia. This is solely based off the structure of what the Yonkou represented before White Beard's death; Shanks had the strongest haki, White Beard had the strongest paramecia, and It can be assumed Kaidou has the strongest zoan. It would only stand to reason that Big Mom would have a logia type devil fruit. I do think the acid fruit would be a smidge lame, though it is very different from poison. All in all, I liked the idea behind this even if I disagree. + rep
